Female attempts suicide, is admitted to hospital where she's told she's got limited time left. She goes through a journey of discovery which ends with her running away after befriending another inpatient. It turns out the doctors lied to her to make her remember to live.

It was a profoundly powerful book tackling the question of life and also madness.
I'd be SO happy to find out what it was called...!
