Could not find the thread labeled "eBook verification-no print edition" so please move if needed-I have an ebook that has 0 pages listed on GR, but has 143 pages on Amazon. Am I able to use this book for the challenge? Where would I post, to get the book ok'd? Thanks!

You can normally use unless the task has a page requirement
Post the GR book record, as well as any supporting info (link to Amazon etc)

Thanks, still finding my way around :)

Possibly. I'm playing catch up after a 4 day camping trip with no computer. Eventually, I'll get around to re-contacting the 30.4 task creator.... ;-)

LOL. It was totally worth it. ;-)

For the Group Read, are re-reads okay? I read The Professor and the Madman... when it first came out, so it has been fifteen years or so.
Thanks!
Another newbie here-I was looking through Fall's challenge section, and noticed that people post differently in the completed tasks thread. Some post after they complete each task, and others will have several completed tasks listed in one post. Is there a mod preference for how we post our completed tasks (one at a time/numerous in one post etc). Thanks!

You may post several completed tasks at the same time, but they have to be in numerical order. If not, the mods will ask you to re-post.
At the end of a challenge, they encourage us to post as we read in case we run out of time to make any required repostings.

You can do it one at a time, or in a group - up to you, but, as Bea said, if there's more than one, put them in numerical order, low numbers to high.
The MOST important thing is to be clear and to read the task and make sure that you have included all of the posting requirements. Also, personally, I really hate the posts with lots and lots of tasks in them - it makes it very easy to miss one. FWIW, I do my posts in groups of 3 tasks at a time.

Thanks! I like the idea of submitting 3 at a time, I may do that :)

If a task requirements states "Read a book..." without any other qualifiers like "fiction only" or "non-fiction only" can I assume that either fiction or non-fiction books are valid?

yes, unless there's a specific limiter both fiction and non-fiction work

I was looking through the 'Rewards of the Challenge: Effective Fall 2015' thread, and reading about how the reward tasks are handed out-do the mods keep track of these or are the players supposed to be tracking them somehow? Meaning, will a mod let someone know/post it somewhere when they get a reward task spot?
I'm eyeballing that Rookie at the Top reward spot lol :)

We have all the records (lots of them!). We have lots of number crunching to do today.
If you are selected/qualify for a 20 point task you will be contacted through GR mail. Your settings must be set to allow messages. It's a good idea to check them. If we can't contact you we move to the next player on the list.

I can't imagine what kinds of spreadsheets you have set up, lol! This group is amazing, thanks for putting in all the work for the challenges!

First, if I have an omnibus edition of a series, clocking in at around 1,5K pages, I had read 54% of it at the start of the challenge, yet only a couple of chapters into the third book of the omnibus, which is around 600 pages in paperback, can I still claim that and any subsequent books in the omnibus for this challenge?
Okay, that's probably unclear. To be exact, the omnibus in question is The Inheritance Trilogy, 1442 pages long. The first two books, going by paperback, are 427 and 384 pages, while the third is 613 pages. The omnibus also contains a fourth book, allegedly 250 pages. To complicate things a bit, I read the Kindle version.
Second, does the new rules adjustment regarding books in multiple parts mean that two halves of a novel can be claimed separately? I have the second half of a book waiting here that's nearly 700 pages all by itself.
Thank you.

You couldn't use the omnibus, but you could use The Kingdom of Gods independently. Follow regular page number rules (#7) if reading the kindle edition. I'm not sure what the 4th book is, it might work, but I can't say without details.
The rule change only pertains to books published separately in parts like A Storm of Swords : A Storm of Swords: Steel and Snow part 1 and A Storm of Swords: Blood and Gold part 2. In past seasons both parts needed to be read, now you may use them independently if those are the editions you read. You can't break a book into parts if you read a complete edition.

The fourth book in the omnibus edition is The Awakened Kingdom, a novella. Amazon.co.uk says the paperback is 250 pages, which feels awfully high for what I read, but eh.
Thanks.

My copy of A Christmas Carol is in The Christmas Books, Volume 1: A Christmas Carol/The Chimes and takes up just 92 pages. Can I read this version for the group reads or will I have to find another copy with more pages?

Since it is a 20.10 Group Read you may read any edition as long as it is not an abridged edition or graphic novel.

Yes, thanks for clarifying. The page count thing has stopped me reading A Christmas Carol for the challenge before, as I refused to spend time/money looking for another copy when I already have a perfectly good version that is just a bit too economical on paper.
Another group challenge I take part in uses the Most Popular Edition to establish page count, regardless of which edition you actually read.

It was under Task Help as of Fall 2015 "0.0 - Fit This Book", but I am not seeing it for Winter. I haven't seen anything saying that it would be discontinued though so maybe just has yet to be added. (Also someone else will likely have a more helpful answer soon! haha.) :)
Cindie wrote: "It has been a couple challenges since we posted GRA's? Has that been discontinued?"
GRA Author tickets were discontinued as of the Fall 2015 challenge.

It's located in the General Help section of group discussion. You can find it here.

Thanks for letting us know, Julia! I've sent Pamela a message to let her know there are questions in her help thread.

Also for task 25.1, I posted a question on January 24, but no answer yet.
Thanks"
Thanks, Pia. I messaged Beth, as well. If you guys don't get answers in a day or two, I'll step in and answer for you.
