This did not frighten or surprise me half as much as I had expected. Maybe that was my mistake.

172 Hours on the Moon follows the story of three teenagers who win the lottery and get to go to the moon with five austronauts. Once on the moon, mayhem ensues.

The thing is, there was so much mystery from the start, and it all amounted to not very much. It wasn't as if the secrets they were keeping made much impact on what was happening. The secrets had no value once they were revealed. I didn't like that. I also didn't care much for the characters since they didn't have much of a personality.

However, I was entertained throughout. It was a quick read that at times even creeped me out a little bit. I do think this book would make a better movie. I would love to see that.

I would also like to complain about the lack of aliens. What??? No aliens in an alien book? Dopplegangers are so dull and boring. None of that story line made sense. I demand aliens. Evil aliens. I just wanted so much more.

The twist most people refer to is the one where you don't know Mia isn't really Mia so you think Mia really was saved but really she's another doppleganger trying to transform everyone on earth.

I saw that coming from miles away. There are dopplegangers in the vampire diaries come on. On a book about the moon you gotta be more creative.
