I'm in!! are we reading a specfic set of chapters or are we just reading at our own pace?

I actually don't wanna do this, sorry, i have too much going on

Chapter 5
Wow this is a pretty exciting book so far

Chapter 10
(view spoiler)[I don't know if Grace's idea of a scavenger hunt was meant to put the people in danger. All this talk about getting rid of their family members is a lil crazy. I wonder why McIntyre seems to be helping them. It's almost like Grace intended them to win but why make this whole adventure in the first place? (hide spoiler)]

I enjoyed this book a lot and discovered heaps about Benjamin Franklin and I liked how it introduced the next historical figure: Mozart! Rick Riordan has a way of intertwining history with fiction really well like he did with the mythology and fiction for Percy Jackson! Since the second book is written by a different author I'm wondering if the story will flow on! (hide spoiler)]

I can get the book on Tuesday, but I have 3 books that I have to finish by the end of the week.

I can read it with you when you get it. Then we all can read the third one if you guys want to.

"Dan was thrilled that the second clue had been safely smuggled out of the church in his pants" Hilarious!!! And he wanted to throw away the paper wrapped around the vial earlier (but Amy knew better). What's in the vial anyway? (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 6
(view spoiler)[ I am disturbed by how violent these books are and how breaking and entering is a clever thing not really shunned as an illegal action (though Nellie tried to be the voice of reason). And sadly, if that much money is on the line, I'm sure that would be the reality.

Thank goodness for Nellie helping Dan and Amy. I like how she's the au pair and not the nanny/babysitter. I was surprised that they gave up the fake clue instead of actually trading it for Nellie like in the movies. I wouldn't trust any of these people to keep their word.

What's up with the cat not eating?

I worry that all these books are going to be cliffhangers since there are so many in the series about the ongoing hunt.

It's been a while since I read the first book, do any of you notice the difference between author's writing? This reminds me of those TV series that had a different director for each episode.

Yes I noticed a difference in the tone of the writing of the second book and the characters are a bit different too :(

I laughed when the siblings stole the parchment recipe for Benedictine and were chased by upset Benedictine monks. I'm glad that Amy returned it.

It was sad that a Lucian cousin cheated Mozart. Maybe Cahills were always mean, jealous and dishonest.

I'm glad that Saladin finally started eating. Hmmm, the lawyer, Mr. McIntyre, was tracking the kids via a bug in the cat collar? I thought it was clever of them to put the tracker on cousin Alistair Oh, but that was when I thought it was one of the other teams of cousins tracking them.

I loved the descriptions of Venice. And I thought it was a good sign that they hid the diary pages on The Royal Saladin.

Quick thinking by Amy to threaten to paint the priceless portrait of George Washington red to make their escape.

Not having money or other advantages put Dan and Amy at a definite disadvantage in this hunt. I'm glad that they have Nellie to help them.

Starting Book 3! I like the tone of this book already. It's got that fun crazy factor the first book had which I found lacking in the second book.

I also like how Dan and Amy communicate with their eyes. Unrealistic but funny XD (hide spoiler)]

Loving it
(view spoiler)[Nellie's reappearance was awesome! She wasn't oblivious to the plans of the Kabras.

I think Alistair is trustworthy since he saved Amy. Wow at his back story ! His uncle is a crazy murderer and seems like he's after the clues too. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[The Kabras couldn't be trusted! It's weird the book gave Ian page time to express his thoughts about Amy and Dan. Did he really manipulate Amy or were there some genuine feelings ?
And I'm glad Alistair did not die I still think he's on the children's side. He needed to take care of some things regarding his Uncle.
Overall I thought this 3rd book was very good! It revealed a lot of things and it was action packed. (hide spoiler)]
