I'm looking for the names of the Sailor Moon series for about elementary school age girls. I remember them in my elementary school library in the early 90s.They were very Americanized.Hardcover if I remember right. Very colorful.

Were these Sailor Moon chapter books? Or, are you referring to the Sailor Moon manga? The manga is in black and white, however.
It wasn't a manga.It was if I remember correctly a hard cover book about 12" tall.I don't remember if it actually had chapters. They were probably about 30 pages long each.
There was a series of novelized ones, edited/translated by Stewart Levi, the first was called A Scout is Born. Also, there were a couple of hard cover ones, picture book style edited by Chikako Noma, one was Sailor Moon, Friends and Foes, and the other was Meet Sailor Moon.
All are out of print, but available on Amazon fairly cheaply. Here are some links:
