Luis | 2 comments So Im on the search for a next good book (series). Im looking for something in the Fantasy branch some adventure and maybe a good young male lead. IVe read Harry Potter, Percy Jackson (hated it),The Dark is rising Series (best Books ever),A Song of Ice and Fire Series, Inheritance Series, almost all Dragonlance books, The Death Gate Series, Artemis Fowl, and I´ll better stop or the list will go on and on Ha Ha!
The thing is most of these books are rather old Im not up to date or familiar with the new Books/Authors (despite the fact that Im not even 30) so im hoping some of you can point me towards my new literary adventure.
Thanks heaps for the help :)

P.S: Before anyone asks why the young male lead well its just what I like really I prefer a male lead because I can easily imagine myself in the characters shoes. Nothing sexist at all.

Have you given Dean Koontz's ODD THOMAS series a run? They were pretty great. Odd Thomas is the first...

Also, you have to try Area X: The Southern Reach Trilogy - Jeff Vandermeer's trilogy is amazing.

Pamela Mclaren | 293 comments Luis, have you tried Ray Bradbury's The Martian Chronicles? I know its not a series, but my son enjoyed reading it. His work is generally considered classics in horror, fantasy and science fiction.

Another author you might want to consider is Isaac Asimov — although he's much more in the science fiction realm ...

Stephen Richter (stephenofskytrain) | 46 comments Scott Lynch The Lies of Locke Lamora
Patrick Rothfuss The Name of the Wind
and finally just before the onset of the series on SYFY
James S.A. Corey Leviathan Wakes
All of them are great. Rothfuss is adult Harry Potter style, Lynch is a Con Game Fantasy and Corey is two George RR Martin ex-interns who have combine to create a pen name and Game of Thrones in Space: with a touch of Alien and of all things, the great film "Laura". Sounds like a mess but it all works.
