Marie-Helene I think that I like Ky and Cassia together in the book. The author makes it so hard to like Cassia being with Xander because she shows through her dialouge that Xander is more of a friend than a partner. On the other hand, Ky and Cassia are very passionate around eachother and share many joined memories that Cassia enjoys. With Xander she only shares memories of the society she hates because they are keeping her away from Ky. What is your opinon?

Camille CASSIA AND XANDER > CASSIA AND KY ANYDAY! KASSIA IS SO BORING! HE IS TOO SECRETIVE AND ALL THEY TALK BOUT IS POETRY! XANDER AND HER ARE SO CUTE! THEY HAVE BEEN BEST FRIENDS SINCE THEY WERE LITTLE THEN THEY FELL IN LOVE! BUT SHE DIDN'T! SHE ENDS UP WITH FREAKING KY! IM SO DONE! I CANT EVEN THINK ABOUT THIS ANYMORE! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Marie-Helene Have you guys finished the whole series? I'm still on Crossed and I'm thinking of giving up because it is really boring. Cassia is at the camp were she finds out she will die. I feel like the authors writing just makes the book more boring. It is kind of choppy. The dialouge makes this whole book even worse because it turns any situation into a boring one. For example, when the girls are dumped as new villagers, the soldiers just tell them they are going to die and leave. I feel like Condie has a great plot idea but she just doesn't utilize her idea. I think this story could have had great potenial. The first book was ok, the action kept me reading but now, there is just nothing. Overall, I had really high expectations for this book but I'm justv really dissapointed in it now. Does the book get better from then on? Did you guys like Condie's writing style?

Marie-Helene I think that, eventhough Cassia and Xander may be cute together, Ky and Cassia just have more intresting dialouge. For example, they talk about defying the society and Ky's past. There dialouge is really what makes prefer them over Cassia with Xander because they are just more intresting to read about. If Cassia would end up with Xander, there would be no action in the book what so ever (not that there really ever is any thanks to Condie). THIS BOOK IS LIKE A BAD DREAM THAT KEEPS ON RETURNING EVERY TIME YOU SLEEP!!!!! Also, why do Ky and Cassia get torn apart after trekking through a canyon A CANYON. It makes no sense. What are your thoughts on this madness? THIS BOOK IS LIKE A BAD DREAM THAT KEEPS ON RETURNING EVERY TIME YOU SLEEP!!!!!

It doesn't get better. Save your self.

●Gina● Ky gives Cassia a sense of freedom. Like his presence sets her free to explore what she never dared to before. As said in Crossed she "did things she never thought she could".

Xander is the safe bet. He's the landing mat she could fall onto if everything with Ky breaks apart. Xander is a promising good life but it's predictable.

Ky promises uncertainty and to Cassia that says promises of choice. Aren't all choices full of uncertainty?

I honestly think Ky and Cassia should make it! Xander is the golden boy from the borough. He's the face Society would slap on a poster to ignite pride in the provinces. Of course he is more than a poster boy but his character sets against the wall almost too perfectly.

At least with Ky her life would forever be severed from Society and moving towards something entirely different. She would love him and he would love her as people fascinated by each other.

Also Xander and Indie should totally hook up at least once and live happily ever after

Marie-Helene I agree with you

Marie-Helene Also what types of conflicts do you guys see in the story?

Marie-Helene I think that one of the main problems is man vs. society were Cassia and Ky are literally going head to head with the society. This conflict is what keeps the story moving and what all of Cassia and Ky's internal conflicts are centered around. For example, because of their struggle against the society they have the internal conflict of being a part
