What's the rating for the book?"
I gave it 5 stars. It was a contemporary romance that I really enjoyed. I would love to visit Paris, so I thought it was an awesome setting for a book :)

What's the second book about?

What's the second book about?

My mother is making me read Surrender for its message (which, I'll admit, is nice. Good Catholic people changing the world, just by being good. Kind of like a modern Little Women).
The Choir Invisible was an old book I picked up at a yard sale; don't recommend it so far.
As for The Bastard, it's John Jakes. I've quite missed John Jakes during the school year :)

I loved Shiver too and I really do like Linger but Grace and Sam (mostly Sam) are getting on my nerves. I'm hoping the rest of the books are good too.

I was dissapointed with Sam but I'm waiting for a better Sam on Forever.
Also I would like to read the Raven Boys soon.

What's the second book about?"
It's about a murder in a small town, and how the cops pin it on some guy without even investigating and the best friend of the victim begins to investigate on her own. It sounds cool, but I just finished it and I didn't like it :/

The book was good, but it was kind of hard to stay interested in it. The writing went off on tangents constantly and I found myself quite bored. I'm hoping to see the film soon, but yeah, I don't have too high of hopes for it. Ha.

I'm glad you liked the book! Hopefully the movie turns out better than it looked.

1) The Nixon Defense: What He Knew and When He Knew It by John W. Dean

2) The German Aces Speak II: World War II Through the Eyes of Four More of the Luftwaffe's Most Important Commanders by Colin D. Heaton

3) Challenge of Battle: The Real Story of the British Army in 1914 by Adrian Gilbert

4) Scandalous Risks by Susan Howatch (novel)

He's historical fiction; at least, that's all I've seen of his. And at that, he's epic historical fiction. For the US's bicentennial, he attempted to write an 8-book series to cover a single American family through the generations from 1776-1976. (The Bastard is the first book in that series). I don't believe he finished it, but he got 5 600-page novels out of it. If that's not epic, I don't know what is!

+++++++++++++++++
Thanks for putting me in the know about this upcoming novel (i.e. upcoming for us here in the States). I'll be buying it as soon as it comes out next January. (I've been fascinated with Rodin since reading a biographical novel about him in the late 1980s.)

Necromancing the Stone

I can't imagine anyone not loving these hilarious books. Be sure to have Pandora nearby so you can listen to the songs that introduce each chapter. Was not familiar with Lish McBride, but am now a big fan.
