Ronald (rpdwyer) | 571 comments I nominate The Dreams of Cardinal Vittorini and other Strange Stories by Reggie Oliver:

It appears, though, that it is only available for the Kindle. But I suggest to give it a try. The book has a high average goodreads rating. I think the story "The Seventeenth Sister" will be considered a classic.

Latasha (latasha513) ok I would like, if I may, also bring attention to Terror by Night Classic Ghost & Horror Stories by Ambrose Bierce I love, love, love Ambrose Bierce. I have read some of these but that's ok! he's wonderful. let me sing praise for him ;) the kindle book is 3.99. however..if you look at the table of contents and jot them down I'm sure you can find the stories for free online.

Ronald (rpdwyer) | 571 comments I just came across this from The Swan River Press:

The Swan River Press Reader
http://www.swanriverpress.ie/reader.html

Its offered as a free ebook. I dowloaded it to my computer. The book is comprised of supernatural tales and non fiction pieces about the authors.

Canavan | 377 comments I'll second Ronald's second nomination, The Swan River Press Reader — short table of contents and I’m familiar with most of the authors. Latasha’s Ghost Stories also sounds quite tempting. Not sure I’m in a Bierce mood; I’m depressed enough as it is these days. ;) And while I’m an admirer of Vittorini, it’s probably a bit too soon for me to consider a re-read.(Incidentally, I liked “The Seventeenth Sister, but the best story to my way of thinking was “Beside the Shrill Sea”.)

Just to keep my hand in, I’ll nominate Henry Chapman Mercer’s November Night Tales, a 1928 collection recently re-published by Valancourt that’s supposedly in the James mold.

Latasha (latasha513) lol oh no Canavan!! we'll steer clear of Bierce then.
