The last indie I read was Eden Fell by our own Lily.
Next up is The Only Boy by Jordan Locke.

I just finished Luminous Shadows and Vampires and Vixens and I'm getting ready to read Safe Hex With a Vampire

I know what you mean. I'm actually on the last book in that series: Braedrics Bane. It's not something I would normally read, but I do really enjoy these books.

I think i'm on the third book hate that it's taking me so long though cuz I really want to know what happens lol ebooks don't work well for my reading habits haha

I'm slogging through Spider's bite by Jennifer Estep. It's the first of a series about a female assassin in a supernatural alternate Earth. She works in the American south. I've just gotten into it (5 chapters in), and it isn't moving me. While I have a soft spot for the ass-kicking female, I like them more subtle than this. They should be more seductive than intimidating, feel fear and make it work to their advantage; in short, they shouldn't act like small men. This is showing signs that it might take off, and when I finish it, I will write a review if I can reasonably give it at least 3 stars. I won't rate lower than that, because I can't bring myself to tell a professional author that they don't know what they're doing...
Don't like any work that depicts the violent exploitation of children for the entertainment of adults. Eowyn of Lord of the Rings is a good female warrior, as is Cattie-brie of R.A. Salvatore's Drizzt series. If, as you read, you could mentally change the gender to male, and the female warrior reads just as well either way, the author has missed the boat. There should be a point to having a female badass other than just to describe female body parts in action.

I felt the same way about The Gunslinger. A rather boring book and any time I recommend the series to someone I always point out that you kinda have to read the first book, but it's not going to be that entertaining to you.
Only the last part, The Gunslinger and the Man in Black, had me interested to continue.
Once I started reading the second book though, I was hooked.
Oddly enough I'm not reading an indie authors book. Usually I am but my kindle is down atm. I am currently reading Confessions of an English Opium Eater by Thomas de Quincey.

Yes, it's got a very unique approach. I liked this one quite a bit.

I share your thoughts on The Gunslinger. I wonder if I should have read the more recent versions over the original

Still wouldn't give it more than two stars though.
Currently reading The Dear War Zombie Series by George Cook III. So far I've read book one along with the short stories and flash fiction that followed the end of part one. Odd place to put short stories and flash fiction but it works! I'll be getting started on Book 2, Abomination sometime between tonight and tomorrow.

George Cook III? Does he live in Hawaii, by any chance?

I've been super impressed by all indie books I've read from this site. Jennifer, Wren and Kevin have all produced high quality and fully enjoyable reads. So glad I haven't had to give below 3* thus far...even if I find scathing reviews a little easier to write than glowing ones (says a lot about my character, huh? :p)

Is this the right place for this post? If you put it in the right place it'll be easier for prospective readers to find. :-)
Currently and solely reading Totem by C. Michael Lorion. I needed to finish another book and now that I have I can really start getting into this one.

I've just started (only one chapter in) Sky Lands: The Gift Stones by TL Rese (unfortunately there's no book cover photo for me to post). I won it in a goodreads giveaway. This book currently has no ratings or reviews so I have no idea what to expect.
