David Sven (gorro) | 567 comments Don't you hate it when you open a new thread for Ch 11 - and then an hour later you hear the words (on the Audible Version) "Chapter Ten"

David Sven (gorro) | 567 comments Part 3 - CH 11 to 15 somewhere - I'm guessing all this old nobles vs new nobles is all leading up to Nevare eventually becoming a scout.

David Sven (gorro) | 567 comments Looks like things are getting nasty between the old and new nobles

It's interesting how many of these new noble sons seem oblivious to the politics surrounding the academy and their "new" status.

I really liked these last couple of chapters. The old versus the new clearly is going to be a huge theme, and the 'new' guys will get a lot of bullying. I guess they better stick up for themselves.

I'm really intrigued by this very rigid order in tasks for the sons, and the examples that if you change the rules things get messy: the 'new' heir being to militant with the serfs, the new soldier son not having the constitution and the new priest being too creative to be a priest.
All that makes me wonder about Gord, who might have been the third son after all. Hearing him talk about how to deal with bullies definitely sounds more priestly than soldierly, but i'm curious to see what will happen.

Other hugely interesting thing: Epiny and the 'other' thing in Nevare certainly don't seem to like one another. How cool was that?

Me too! It also makes me both sad and glad that i never had to do boarding school. Also a bit potter-isch: this new versus the old lords. seems like some aren't pure-blooded enough.

I agree! So far the two things he did certainly were focused on. Looking forward to what will happen the next time Tiber and Nevara meet

Amen to that. what a little jackass! Feeling all superior and yet trying to constantly belong. I kind of felt for him at the start, but now i'm just wondering how much he has to do with the bullying himself?

I'm trying to decide who I despise more, Caulder or Joffrey?
