Happy Friday!

Here's this week's question for discussion: What book did you love that everyone else hated?

Share your thoughts!

Donna | 1350 comments I'd have an easier time with books I loathed that everyone else loved.

That's going to be a question too! Just not this week. :-(

Alison G. (agriff22) | 543 comments I agree with donna. But one I can think of is Fifty Shades of Grey. I just finished it. I'm on the side that I loved it. I picked it cause its a love/hate book. No in between

Alicja (darkwingduckie7) | 273 comments I love, love, love The Difference Engine. But out of over 11,000 ratings its average is a 3.38 so its safe to say that many hated it. But I still adore it!

Oriana Van Vlaanderen | 55 comments I really like the Silmarillion. The average rating is quite good (3.78 avg rating), but lets face it. This was quasi only read by those who knew what they were facing. Pass it out to 100 random readers and the average score would instantly drop.

***randomly inserted comment: my auto-corrector wants to change the Silmarillion into Militarisation. It somehow fits ...***

Inaara (candy4ever) | 103 comments The entire series of unfortunate events is apparently to dismal for most people. That is my childhood right there! Some have never read it, others have watched the movie and automatically hate the books. While i agree the movie sucked, don't take it out on the books!

Inaara (candy4ever) | 103 comments Also the Davinci Code, i loved it, but many people are not a fan.

Donna | 1350 comments It's official, I am a sheep. I ran through my list and every book I gave 4 or 5 stars to has an average between 3.75 and 4.6.

Karen (karinlib) I think for me, it isn't a matter of loving a book that was panned by everyone, I find that I can find positive things about that book. I guess I'm not all that picky.

I think you're right there. I'm a big fan of both The Hobbit and The Lord of The Rings and have tried a couple of times to read it but just couldn't hack it.
