Loving this book so far!!!! XD

However I really love this book. I never would have picked it up if not for the Read-Along. This might even end up being one of my favorite books after I read it, but that depends on how the ending plays out. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of this book.

No one said the world might be in danger or maybe i didnt get to that yet. When David dies a new oracle is born right? So I do understand Harpers perspektive she just needs to get her head aroud the idea first!
Does anone know if this is a series?

I wouldn't say she's making the wrong nor the right decision. I mean it's her life… if she didn't want to be someone's guardian in other words she shouldn't have to. But I honestly don't think this is something she can get herself out of.. she always gets the feeling when David is in trouble, Its not like that is something anybody can ignore. I think she ends up excepting her fate which she should! So far I'm having a hard time putting the book down, even with my list of things to get done today! Oh well.. this is what happens when you're a book nerd haha.

In regards to her fate, I think Harper is in a state of denial. But that's pretty realistic.. you can't just become a superhero and abandon your old life. It's kind of sad, honestly. She's been working really hard towards a certain life and it's being torn from her. She needs time to get over it.. if she ever does!

I like Harper's realistic reaction to the situation, but I hope she'll change her mind!
So excited to find out how the fight with Blythe turns out!

omg, i dont even watch the show but that is exactly how i pictured her, if there ever is a movie she would be the perfect person to play the role

I guessed Saylor Stark was Professor X after the whole driving into Harper's fence incident. I mean, it kind of makes sense for the one person who is close to David to be the one who knows.
Harper and David are probably going to end up together, but I can only hope David becomes a nicer person. I mean, even if he does have some ulterior motive for being mean to her, why would you prey on someone who was clearly ill?
I was really surprised to find that Professor X was Saylor! I didn't see that coming at all. I was also shocked to find that she really wasn't David's aunt. HELLO PLOT TWIST. xD Looking back on it though, I probably should have seen it coming. I'm starting to feel really bad for Harper. She basically has no choice but to be David's paladin.

It's hard to make me laugh, but this book's humor is just perfect. It keeps getting more witty. I'm so glad for the humorous tone because I don't think I would have liked this story without it.

Harper's reaction to the whole thing is extremely realistic, that thing where you fully embrace new abbilites that appear out of nowhere only happens in movies. Of course she's gonna think about her future and her life, she's worked hard for all those things it's unfair to ask her to throw them away for someone she hates (or thinks she hates #Harvid). But we all know she'll end up being the Paladin.

I wasn't surprised with Harper's reaction because I'd react the same way too. Putting your life out and giving everything up for a guy you hate is absolute torture, but I really hope that something romantic will happen between David and Harper... because well, I just love David. :)

And Saylor makes a lot of sense. I definitely loved the moment when Harper was leaving the house after saying she wouldn't be a Paladin and Saylor smiles all nice and thanks her for the cake. It's like the southern lady's eff you and it was so hilarious. Definitely loving the humor in this.

I really like that Harper refused Saylor and her role as a Paladin. I loved that Harper put herself first and was not willing to die for someone else. Especially someone she has disliked her entire life. I like that I see the evolution of Harper and how she is defending herself more and standing up for herself more. I like that I can see her strength more and more as we progress through the book. However that just makes me see the weakness of David more and more.
One of my favorite parts in this section is when Harper sees her boyfriend Ryan at the mall talking to Mary Beth and she charges over to his side without even thinking. The whole banter back-and-forth between Harper and her best friend Bee, that's secret best friend talk, ending in Harper deciding she's going to go back to the store to buy the sparkly shoes for Cotillion. Loved it!
I am loving Rachel Hawkins writing style and the way she tells her story, it feels very smooth and effortless. A very quick and easy read so far. Though like I stated before I'm really missing a strong male lead.

I agree that nothing is really shocking me so far. Everything has been pretty predictable so far. I do love every little Pres comment though.

You are not the only one not loving this book. I am not in love with it either. It is just on OK read for me thus far.

I did!

But anyway, I love the book so far. I suspected Saylor as Harper's "Professor X", but it was still a little surprising. Also, I think Harper is going to end up a Paladin anyway. Though, as many people have pointed out, her choice was very realistic. After all, no one today would willingly give up their life for anyone, let alone a lifelong rival.
But what I really wanted to mention was Harper's comment about David wearing a Doctor Who T-shirt. I know it's not really an important detail, and it's something to be expected of David, being the nerd he is, but still. Doctor Who T-shirt.
I just love Doctor Who, which is honestly why I got caught up on this little detail :)

For some reason the part when Saylor told Harper and David about everything just kind of pissed me off. I hadn't liked Saylor to begin with so having her has Harper's "mentor" or whatever just wasn't right. And also when she was forcing Harper to follow through with the Paladin duties and Harper didn't want to kind of pissed me off to because it wasn't Harper's choice to become a Paladin! It was like forced upon her by a stupid undercover janitor!
Also in the beginning of the book I kind of hated David but now that he and Harper are actually getting along, I love him. <3 He's like so cute and funny like he's just awesome.
The whole interview for the college thing partially surprised me. I knew it would be a fake interview but I didn't know Blythe would actually try to kill Harper rather than David.
Overall I think this book so far is great and I can't wait to continue reading.
