Alicja (darkwingduckie7) | 772 comments We will be doing a group read every 2 months (meaning you have two months to find it, pick it up, and get it read). If there is enough interest, we can change to monthly.

Here is the poll: https://www.goodreads.com/poll/list/1...

Alicja (darkwingduckie7) | 772 comments We have a tie for out first two month reads so we'll read both! I'm going to make the threads, you guys have two months before the next reads; however, I'm planning to keep the threads always open so if you can't get to it you can always read later and still discuss it with us.

The winners:

The Lathe of Heaven

Parable of the Sower

Yoly (macaruchi) | 795 comments Great, looking forward to reading both.

One question, do we need to end of June to discuss these or can we start posting as soon as we're done reading them in case we finish early?

Sparrowlicious | 160 comments Ah, I'm really looking forward to reading both these books. :)

Gary | 1472 comments I'm planning on Parable of the Sower first since I've recently reread a little Le Guin, and I've read more of her stuff already.

Heidi Garrett (heidi_g) I read Lathe of Heaven a few years ago. Although I have tremendous respect for LeGuin, I didn't swoon over it as a reader, so probably won't read it again. I've read Wild Seed by Octavia Butler and absolutely loved it, so I think I'll try Parable of Power.

Heidi Garrett (heidi_g) Oops! Didn't read the dates closely! Will move on to the actual current books!

Oh, you can read the past reads whenever. I'm leaving the threads open if you would like to discuss and I'm sure those that read them won't mind continuing discussions at a later time.

The Bell at Sealey Head by Patricia A. McKillip

Sealey Head is a small town on the edge of the ocean, a sleepy place where everyone hears the ringing of a bell no one can see. On the outskirts of town is an impressive estate, Aislinn House, where the aged Lady Eglantyne lies dying, and where the doors sometimes open not to its own dusty rooms, but to the wild majesty of a castle full of knights and princesses…

Dragonflight (Pern, #1) by Anne McCaffrey

To the nobles who live in Benden Weyr, Lessa is nothing but a ragged kitchen girl. For most of her life she has survived by serving those who betrayed her father and took over his lands. Now the time has come for Lessa to shed her disguise—and take back her stolen birthright.

But everything changes when she meets a queen dragon. The bond they share will be deep and last forever. It will protect them when, for the first time in centuries, Lessa’s world is threatened by Thread, an evil substance that falls like rain and destroys everything it touches. Dragons and their Riders once protected the planet from Thread, but there are very few of them left these days. Now brave Lessa must risk her life, and the life of her beloved dragon, to save her beautiful world...

L.E. Watson I was just wondering when the poll for the January/February group read would be posted. We’re more than half-way through December now, and I’m eager to see what the options are!

Sparrowlicious | 160 comments Same here. I actually thought about asking myself but then pushed it off for some reason. Hmm.
Thanks, Louisa!

Yoly (macaruchi) | 795 comments We are working on it. Polls should be up soon :)
