Will M. (oneandonlywm3) Can anyone suggest books that are similar to this? Nature-horror themed, like how some animals and insects can be a threat to humanity. I've been trying to look for similar books but I haven't found any, recommendations would be very much appreciated.

Buck (spectru) | 900 comments Not familiar with Micro. These are the best I can come up with:
The Andromeda Strain, Prey, and Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton
The Day of the Triffids by John Wyndham
There is the movie Arachnophobia, but I don't think there is a book.

Will M. (oneandonlywm3) Anything about people shrinking would be nice too, thanks for the suggestions Buck.

Jo | 1094 comments If you want people shrinking there is Fantastic Voyage by Asimov although this is based on the film and there is a sequel!

I'm not sure it's really nature/horror but there is always Starship Troopers by Heinlein other than that I draw a blank.

Robin (robinseldonmayfair) What about "The Shrinking Man" by Richard Matheson?
(I haven't read it)

Philip | 5 comments Not so much as nature/horror as nature fighting back, but there is Phase 4 by Barry Maltzberg or The Green Brain by Frank Herbert. Both novels about insects becoming intelligent through hive minds. Though these might be pre-1970.

The Scribbling Man (thescribblingman) | 204 comments Food Of The Gods by H. G. Wells features the unintended gross enlargement of animals.

The Scribbling Man (thescribblingman) | 204 comments Also, The Birds by Daphne Du Maurier and The Shrinking Man.
