Ashley (readerandwriter) Does anyone else find it annoying that the author keeps making a reference to the Twin's skin color? I mean the first two book it is understandable, after that WE GET IT. I really hope the authors don't make the reference again because it is completely unnecessary.

Hannah (lettingtheinkdry) I've only read the first one but she overstates it in that one too. It's like Shut up already about the skin color we know!

yeah i know. at the beginning of every book she rebreifs us on whats happening (which i totally hate, if your reading any book in the series other than the first one then you know whats happening we dont need to be told again!) anyway she tells us at LEAST once but then she ends up telling us 10 or more times before the end of the book. if you read the first book which everyone reading this series should have then you would already know!

Courtney | 4 comments Well I don't really care since the series is awesome! I didn't even notice that but now that you mention the author does mention it a lot. Oh well.

and she overdoes it quite a bit

I agree.

I know! And then they always say "I'm a caramel sundae" or something like that, which annoys me.

Yes I find it quite annoying, so I lied on a post on another thread for this subject I said I can't say anything bad about these books. I think after the first maybe second book you would get the hint that one girl is white and one is black, and that they really aren't twins but theorectically twins.

message 16: by Courtney (new)

Courtney I don't mind the reoccuring briefs about past books. A lot of the time people have long periods of time inbetween each book so need a recap. But I agree that it's pretty much easy to figure out and she does over say that bit of info.

message 17: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (wildcherry) My guess is that Kristen adds that stuff!

message 18: by Kate (new)

Kate (katesbooknook) I know it's been a while since the last posting on this thread, but I just read through and thought to my self "I always thought the repetition was an attempt to convey to the reader that we can be family, friends, lovers etc, no matter the color of our skin." I think its a great lesson! Also, I thought the twins "colors" might be a reference to Mom and Daughter Cast.......Mom is white, daughter is "caramel".

message 19: by Diana (new)

Diana (higura_natume) | 31 comments but it could also be read as pc cast going

"oh she's black and she's white and they get along! look, im showing teens that racism is bad! im so great! did i mention that they're both black and white still get along!?"

seriously, it's nice that they get along despite racial differences but after the first 500 times, it's like WE KNOW ALREADY!!!!

message 20: by Courtney (new)

Courtney I guess, but I agree mostly with Kate.

message 21: by Diana (new)

Diana (higura_natume) | 31 comments my bitterness doesn't get agreed with often, so no surprise

still, subtlety is a virtue in literature, cast should learn that.

message 22: by Courtney (new)

Courtney yeah I understand your point though.

Tetsu (Doki Doki ~♥) (chintotheexperiment) The only one way bookwise I could find it unfrogivable is if people are dumb enough not to read the first book. If it was a TV series then I might be nicer about it, but it isn't...actually a radio drama, those are rare.
