I think I'm going to stay with the same author I read last year, and read the second mystery novel in the series by French author Fred Vargas (Seeking Whom He May Devour)

This is what I am reading too! I saw this on the list and was very happy!

If you are into science fiction, I would suggest: The Three-Body Problem. Very good.
The Tokyo Zodiac Murders (Detective Mitarai's Casebook) by Soji Shimada

I bought it while visiting Krakow and Auschwitz-Birkenau in autumn, and I'..."
This reminds me that Night also works for this prompt. I finished it yesterday, but I'm putting it under Oprah's Book Club. It would also work as Under 150 pages and Set in Europe.

Think Groundhog Day meets Starship Troopers. Yes, it's as awesome as it sounds. Lots of depth, great action, and relatable characters.

I am planning on reading Inkheart as well.

That is what I am going with too!

Good choice, one of the best books I've ever read!"
I absolutely loved it!!!

I've stumbled upon another interesting contender for this prompt: Apocalypse Z: The Beginning of the End ... because I like zombie books, and I especially like zombie books that have a different twist (in this case, the "twist" seems to be that it's journal entries by a nice, regular guy). I already read Jo Nesbo's Nemesis for this category, and I was planning to read Fred Vargas's "Seeking Whom ..." for "set in Europe" but I might read Apocalypse Z instead. I'll get to the Vargas book at some point this year, it's just a question of which book gets to fill the prompt.

This one is also becoming a movie that's supposed to be released late 2017, so it can be read as the book becoming a movie this year. :-)

I was also going to suggest Jo Nesbo's novels, or the "Department Q series" by Jussi Adler Olsen are very good.

Oh..this is wonderful! On my TBR shelf and did not know it was translated. Thank you

This book could also fit following categories if you already read a translated book:
a book that takes place during summer
a murder mystery
a book that takes place on an island (the island Sandhamn)
a book set in Europe (Sweden)

I read Perfect Days for a book translated to English.

Set in Japan in 1643, the novel follows the efforts of Portuguese missionaries to preserve and spread Christianity in Japan.
It was a good read. Not a great deal of action, more reflective in tone.
