I did not really know where to put the link to this article. It is not "inspired by" Fairy Tales, rather the story and beautiful images of a 13-year-old eagle huntress in Mongolia could inspire many Fairy Tales! In any case I found the story and the photographs too beautiful not to share!

It reminded me of The Whale Rider, which has nothing to do with birds, but the image of the girl on the mountain smiling with the eagle reminds me of how I pictured the protagonist in Whale Rider as she rode the whale for the first time. That look of utter happiness.

I see how it could remind you of The Whale Rider Margaret. Both feature adolescent girls having a relationship a wild animal in a magical kind of way.
