Sarah (gsarahthelibrarian) I haven't read all of the books that have been discussed, but I'm hoping Bone Gap and The Weight of Feathers are on the list somewhere!

I had to edit my comment to add that The Death and Life of Zebulon Finch, Volume One: At the Edge of Empire has promise, too!

Leigh (leighb) Bone Gap I think.

Elise | 12 comments I'm thinking Bone Gap has potential to come in as the winner. I'm hoping More Happy Than Not will receive honors, as well as Challenger Deep. However, Challenger won the National Book Award so it's not likely to be listed as a Printz winner. The awards, historically, have not overlapped :(

Bang Bang Books I'm hoping to see Bone Gap, More Happy Than Not, or The Walls Around Us on the final list. Based on the criteria, I think these novels have a strong chance. I would have included Challenger Deep but seeing as it won the NBA, I don't know if it will win or be an honor book.

Brandi (librandian) | 21 comments I hope Challenger Deep wins it. I understand the history with NBA, but I can dream :)

I think the Honors should be Bone Gap, All the Bright Places, and The Alex Crow.

Mary HD (marymaclan) | 87 comments Bone Gap, Bone Gap, Bone Gap for the win!

The Walls Around Us for honors - and The Hired Girl, which I consider YA.

(I admired and respected Challenger Deep more than liked it.)

I wonder if a nonfiction book will place this year (the Sheinkin or M. T. Anderson titles)

Sara Dempster (misssarareads) | 1 comments I'd love to see The Rest of Us Just Live Here get an honor. I also adored Dumplin' but don't think it'll place.

Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda

message 10: by Anne (new)

Anne Bennett (headfullofbooks) | 81 comments A three way tie for the Printz goes to:
-Challenger Deep (too good to ignore)
-Symphony for the City of the Dead (amazing nonfiction)
-Most Dangerous (another nonfiction title everyone says is Middle grade level but no way. This is YA!)

Honors go to:
-Bone Gap (mythology)
-I Crawl Through It (Surrealism)

I'm hoping Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda wins the Morris Award. Share the wealth.

Traci Escher (thebluedoorfarmhouse) | 1 comments All The Bright Places, Bone Gap and The Weight of Feathers are my favorites so far. Dime, Challenger Deep and The Boy in the Black Suit are important and worthy.

Jess (jessmonster) | 26 comments Bone Gap is my favorite so far. I'd love to see Cuckoo Song get some recognition, too, and thought The Walls Around Us is likely to get a nod, but wasn't a personal favorite.

Lisa C | 6 comments Bone Gap as the winner with The Walls Around Us and Most Dangerous as honors!

message 16: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 37 comments I put Finding Jupiter on the Newberry post, but like This One Summer it is on the edge of both categories, age wise. I also thought Hired Girl was excellent. I didn't like Bone Gap at all, so it will probably win. Challenger Deep was excellent.

message 17: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia | 4 comments Out of all the new books I've read this year I'm hoping for Bone Gap, Cuckoo's Song and X: A Novel to get some love. I have Out of Darkness, The Walls Around Us, and Challenger Deep to get to as well, but those were my personal favorites.

Also Goodbye Stranger was absolutely fantastic, though the audience is more middle grade. I just hope that book gets some love somewhere, because it deserves all the positive attention and awards it can get.
