Angel Parrish | 109 comments I can't believe that it is the 12th and this thread hasn't be started. But I just finished a library book, and I'm still keeping track until Dec 31!

I just finished The Advocate by Randy Singer. A pretty hefty tome of historical Biblical fiction--the library only had a large print edition, and it was 701 pages. (According to Goodreads, the regular edition is 495.) So it took me a while to get through it, but it was SOOO good!

I've got at least one more library book to read before the end of the year. Looking forward to seeing what my final total is!

BJ (GoodreadscomLilcLdy57) | 131 comments I just finished "At the Water's Edge" by Sara Gruen which was pretty good. I have always been intrigued by the Loch Ness Monster and the story was fairly engrossing. I've found it a little hard to read this month, don't know if I'm just burned out or my focus is gone. I need one more book to make my 150 for the year on the Good reads challenge, so I'm trying to decide what to read next. I have a stack of books from the library, several shelves at home and quite a few on my Nook/Kindle but nothing is calling my name right now!

Angel Parrish | 109 comments Just finished the 5th and last book in the Time Quintet by Madeleine L'Engle, An Acceptable Time. It was okay. But it doesn't measure up to the first 4.

BJ (GoodreadscomLilcLdy57) | 131 comments Just finished Garlic and Sapphires, the third in Ruth Reichl's memoirs. My fav of the three, recounts her time as restaurant critic for the New York Times. Fun read.

Angel Parrish | 109 comments BJ, how many library books have you read this year? I've passed the 80 mark, and I'm betting you've at least doubled me!

I just hit 150 today with the Ruth Reichl book. That was my goal, but probably 10 of those were Novellas so were less pages than a "real" book.

BJ (GoodreadscomLilcLdy57) | 131 comments So far, I ended up with 96 of the 150 books I've read were library books. Although I'm not planning to read as many Library books in 2016, I want to get some of the books on my e-reader and on my shelves read, I would like to hang out here. I'll probably read at least 2-3 books a month from the library. Is everyone else signing on for another year?

Angel Parrish | 109 comments I read 105 in total, but only 81 were from the library. I'm going to track my library books again, but my challenge is coming from the VT Reading Challenge group. It's more about genre and authors and such. Should be fun.

Angel Parrish | 109 comments Sat down with Niel Gaiman's Fortunately, the Milk. It's a children's book, so a quick 20 min or so...but what a JOY to read! Absolutely brilliant! Can't wait to read it to my niece and nephews!

Sandi (msrbshil) | 71 comments I don't know how many of my reads were library books. I basically used the library for only audio books, though I did read 2 print books form the library.

I'm in for this challenge for another year, and for me personally I'm going to make a few changes. Like I said I use the library mostly for my audio addiction. Every time I finish an audio I"m going to move the cost of that audio into my savings account. I'm going to make a spread sheet so I can really see that savings. (should be interesting on many counts...least of which is my creating a spreadsheet, since I'm not techy at stuff like that!)

I've not really commented but I listened to Blonde Hair, Blue Eyes by Karin Slaughter, I listened to Tricky Twenty Two by Janet Evanovich, I listened to Must Love Dogs by Claire Cook, and the Seven Year Switch also by Claire Cook. I also read Desperado by Lisa Bingham.

Sandi: I love the idea of putting the money that you save by reading library books into a savings account. I'll have to think about that.

BJ (GoodreadscomLilcLdy57) | 131 comments Finished another library book this morning. "Pretending to Dance" by Diane Chamberlain. It was pretty good. I've still got a stack from the library, don't think I'm going to finish them all before Jan 1.

Angel Parrish | 109 comments I just finished Ready Player One by Earnest Cline. It is a geektastic book with tons of 80s references. Not normally my type of book, but very enjoyable.

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! Looking forward to another great year of reading!

I've been wondering about this one, I'm not a big science fiction reader, but Ready Player One and The Martian have gotten such great reviews I've been considering reading them in the coming year. Thanks for the recommendation.

BJ (GoodreadscomLilcLdy57) | 131 comments Managed to squeeze one more in for 2015. Finished "Another Thing to Fall" by Laura Lippman, part of the Tess Monaghan - Charm City series. I only have 2 more to go in this series. Had hoped to finish it this year but will have to carry it over to 2016.

Summer Sharp (summersharp) | 2 comments My library reads for December:
True Devotion by Liora Blake
Deep by Kylie Scott
True Divide by Liora Blake
It's Only Love by Marie Force

I have been following the group this year, but haven't posted much. I need to get better about that. My total library tally is 47 for 2015.

For 2016, I want to figure out a way to track what I'm spending on books. I've looked around Amazon and cannot figure out how to export that. I'm tempted to use one of the user review fields in Goodreads to track purchase price and see if it will export to Excel. I love Sandi's idea about moving book savings into actual savings.
