I read the script to the TV show's pilot and it... was really... interesting.

I want to know if you guys think it would work as a show, even though the station didn't accept the script at all.
My reaction to the first few pages: WHAT... THE... HELL?!?! SOME DEMON POSSESSED MAXON AND TURNED HIM INTO A WHORE!!!!

It's as if the selection morphed into a distopian version of the bachelor featuring the cast of characters from gossip girl and mean girls, except that it turns out that "Chuck" (Maxon) is actually just pure evil. If that script were the books, I wouldn't read them.

Judging from what has become popular since, I think that people are over sociopathic stuff. The Selection books are not void of cruelty, but the main characters in the books are much kinder than this.

I started reading it and I was laughing to hard, I only got through like one page before the tears from laughing got to be too much

They took polite, sweet, gentlemanly Maxon and turned him into an absolute ahole who only thinks about sex and probably sleeps with every girl he meets.

Is this what we are telling young girls now? That it is ok for men just to like them for their bodies? That they should be treated like a piece of interesting art instead of an actual person?

What happened to the times when men used to be polite? When they used to hold open doors for women and treat them with respect?!?! I agree.

All the guys I know, which are a few, tend to be... to big headed. One compliment and BOOM! They think they've been told they're gods, even though we just say, "Nice hair" or "Cool shoes" or whatever. My brother is like that. He's nice and gentlemanly, to OTHER GIRLS, but to me, yeah... where's the sweet gentleman? I don't want a guy who is only a "real man" when girls, pretty girls, are around. They should not choose the circumstance to be good and respectable.

Another thing, I am NOT pretty, I can admit that. And what surprises me is that I'm really sure that it'll be next to impossible to find a guy who'll like me, because I have no looks, no figure, nothing in the physical aspect. This is why some girls resort to books; they find the guys that they don't think exist in the real world in them. When in fact, there are. But, because of the "trends" and the want to fit in, they lose their chivalry just so they can "be part of this generation".

And some guys are so lusty it makes me sick. Remember, I said SOME. They blame a girl who wears skimpy and short outfits outside when they get raped (which is true in one point because, why would you wear next to nothing in an outdoor place? Uh... hello? You're going to the city, not a public pool. Conservativeness, where arth thou?) but unless a girl walks up to you and says, "Hey, rape me please?" why would the guy do it? He just wants to receive momentary pleasure, lindo's the word right? Anyway, if she WAS wearing something short and tempting, the guy, if he was a gentleman with any sort of self-dignity, he WOULDN'T fall into temptation. It's his choice to take away her v-card, not hers.

AND THEIR PRIDE. OHMYGOLLYGOSHYGOODNESS!!! I mean, girls have their own sense of pride (those of which are worse than boys') but the guys I know can't take it if they are wrong. When WE are wrong, they keep teasing about that one little mistake, but if THEY slip up, they shout at us and pretend that they didn't do anything wrong, dodging the topic entirely.
