Matt Levy Another climax and resolution in the book Maniac Magee, by Jerry Spinelli is when Maniac is living on the East End. One summer day, everyone on the East end gathered around a fire hydrant that somebody had opened. Everyone was laughing and having a good time, until a old man appeared and repeatedly called Maniac several racial slurs. This is the climax because it when the intensity of the moment is greatest. The resolution is when Maniac decides to leave town for the greater good the Beales and the people of the east end.
