23. A book that is published in 2016 - The Light on the Water by Olga Lorenzo - 3★
24. A book with a protagonist that has your occupation – anyone know of any books with a dietitian as the main character? Hmmm, not likely.
If I get desperate, I may just go with The Mistress of Spices by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni (I’m often suggesting people add herbs and spices to their cooking!) or Gulp: Adventures on the Alimentary Canal by Mary Roach (since I’m always asking lots of questions about patients’ alimentary canals!)
I have just read Who We Were by Lucy Neave with the main character working as a medical scientist which is what I used to do many years ago, so if I get really desperate (time-wise), I'll count that one for this category.
25. A book that takes place during summer - As Darkness Falls by Bronwyn Parry - 3.5★
26. A book and its prequel – N/A - perhaps Roger Ascham and The King's Lost Girl and The Tournament

36. A book about a road trip - The One Plus One by Jojo Moyes - 4★

The sad thing is that I started this list months ago... And there's a good chance that before 2016 is halfway over, I'll be starting 2017's list...!

That part's important Kathryn, as I discovered recently! I loaded my reading way too heavily towards others' recommendations this year and then found I had nothing to vote for in the Goodreads Choice Awards.

Yes, but I don't really care that much about the GR Choice Awards - they don't mean that much anyway, as far as I'm concerned - people don't stop reading the books just because they were published last year!! Or at least, I don't. In fact, I mostly prefer to let the hype die down over new books, although it's nice to read some new releases occasionally.

Congratulations on your fabulous organisational skills. I'm impressed! And wish you luck - and enjoyment:)

And if my lists help anyone else, please feel free to use any books or general ideas/concepts, of course! Your Aussie author list that you did as a personal challenge for 2015 is a pretty good resource, too, Julie!!

Oh that's good to hear that they have been useful Kathryn :)

Oh, I see - I used the top 5 2015 list as an overall top 5 including Aussie authors if they were up there with the international ones, and I hadn't twigged that you had no Aussies in your list! I've included your Aussie ones now!
I probably should have - but I would have had more than 5 that way;) But there are so many good Aussie stories out there now, it's fabulous:) I hope you enjoy the ones you get to:)

I know!! As will Dec 31, 2016!! And then I'll be champing at the bit to start 2017's challenges!

But i must make a case for Mark of the Lion Trilogy series by Francine Rivers. I loved them and am sure you will too :)
But a lot of great books and authors there!! Good luck!

You are definitely off to a great start Kathryn. At this rate you'll have most of them read by half way through the year, even less time, and can maybe add books for the other categories too. Although I guess you have other books from other challenges you want to read too.

Yes, but the last few books seem to take the longest! I had about 2 or 3 books remaining on a book bingo last year and it took me months to get those ones read!! And as you say, I'm already over-subscribed with what I want to read this year!

OK, so I'm doing OK with my physical books, my Kindle books (I need to read some ibooks!), my new Aussie authors I wanted to read (my favourite authors need some work), my Christian fiction and my Aussie Readers' 2015 Top Authors. My Popsugar Reading Challenge is blazing along. I definitely need to work on my ibooks, previously read authors I want to read more of and books listed for previous challenges that I still haven't read. It's a good thing there's still 11 months, 1 week and a few days to go this year!!
