Does she write any clean novels?
[ moved from NR suspense as I prefer regular contemporary without the suspense]

I just started Nora's "In Death" series under the pseudonym, "J.D. Robb". I've only read the first two so far, and I believe there are 41 in the series at this point. It takes place in the near future, 2058, and the heroine is Lt. Eve Dallas, a homicide detective in NYC. Her love interest is an extremely wealthy businessman who is kind of like Batman. ;) There are love scenes, etc., but the series focuses more on the crimes she is solving. I've got to say, though, that Roarke is on my list for the best "heroes" in these novels. He doesn't try to stifle who she is or the importance of her job, even though he still worries about her and wants to protect her. For those of you who do like suspense, these have been really good so far.
Have you read Debbie Macomber? She tends to write the cozier versions of romance--the Hallmark Channel kind of romance--that doesn't cross the line.

Well, I recently came across the books in the "Inn BoonsBoro Trilogy" by Nora Roberts in the library and found them quite an enjoyable read ...and though there were few intimate scenes that I could have done without (like you, I also prefer 'clean' reads) but in my opinion, overall the books were 'reasonably clean', at least compared to some of the other books that I read by her.
Have heard good things about the books in her "Bride Quartet" series as well ...and am looking forward to reading them soon :-)
By the way, both of these series are pure Contemporary Romance ...I also prefer this sub-genre to Contemporary Romantic Suspense :-)

Thank you Dawn. I think that you are right and Nora Roberts is not the author for me! Thank you for sharing your experience with her writing.
Yes, I have read a few by Debbie Macomber and loved them, so I will definitely be reading more of hers. :D
I know many authors who write books more like Macombers, I was just wondering about Nora Roberts because the synopsis of several of her books sound interesting, but every time I tried one there was too much profanity, so I couldn't stand the characters or story, and stopped reading.
Well, I went to the library today and found all the four books in the Bride Quartet series by Nora Roberts.
This series has been highly recommended to me and I am looking forward to spending the next few weeks with these books ...and even if they turn out not to be as 'clean' as I usually prefer, I really hope that the other factors are good enough to compensate :-)

Ramla, I remember enjoying that series very much. I like the world Nora created in the friendships between the women in that series and how their love interests encouraged them and helped them in their business as well. It was like a big family. That is one thing I really like about Nora's books--she's great at creating families or friendships I would like to be a part of.
You will find "those" scenes that you don't really like, but I don't remember about the profanity. I hope you will still enjoy them.
Dawn, by now I have read the first two books in the series and while there were some intimate scenes that I had to skip but I still found the books enjoyable :-)
The romance was quite good and the background of the wedding planning business was also interesting ...but as you mentioned, what I liked most was the wonderful friendship between the four women :-)
Guess I should add that I liked book 1
slightly more than book 2
...on my way to start book 3
now! :-)

It's been a while since I read them, but my recollection is that I liked the last story the best. Are there four books in that series or is it a trilogy? Anyway, I'm remembering a dark-haired girl who wore her hair back in a smooth ponytail and there's a scene where she does yoga. She was very professional. I remember wishing I could be her--as I am too lazy to be as fit as she is, etc. I would probably pin up her character as a life inspiration for myself. haha
I hope you continue to like the series.

Thanks Dawn, I am on Book 3 now and my enjoyment continues :-)
There are four books in the series and Book 1 has been my favourite so far :-)
I haven't read Book 4, Parker's story, yet, so can't comment on it but yes, your memory has served you right since Parker is the professional, dark-haired woman who wears her hair back in a smooth pony tail, takes care of all the details of the business in a highly efficient manner and regularly works out in the gym!
Anyway, thanks for sharing your thoughts on the books ...our discussion has actually enhanced my reading experience :-)
