David | 13 comments This is the only gap I have in the "Light" 13 that I haven't picked yet. So I'll open it up: What upcoming book are you looking forward to the most?

I'm looking forward to getting This Is Awkward: How Life's Uncomfortable Moments Open the Door to Intimacy and Connection by Sammy Rhodes, an RUF pastor and frequent tweeter. I like his writing style so it should be good.

Heather Some great suggestions here, I've added a few to my "to read" list!

The one that I'm looking forward to is Eligible: A Modern Retelling of Pride and Prejudice by Curtis Sittenfeld. I don't typically like retelling of classics (much like I don't like remakes of classic movies), however I have really loved everything I have read by Curtis Sittenfeld. American Wife is one of my favorite books. So I'm curious to see how I feel about this one.

Michael Schmid (michaeltschmid) | 2 comments Here's a book about Bible translation which I just had published last month:

Translating the Bible Literally: The History and Translation Methods of the King James Version, the New American Standard Bible and the English Standard Version

It would also fit the categories "A book about the Bible" and "A book written by a first-time author"

K B (kbcook) | 182 comments Sovereignty and Authority in the Context of the American Republic: a confessional Lutheran assessment, by Rt. Rev. James D. Heiser was published in 2016. It's very good reading.

message 13: by K B (new)

K B (kbcook) | 182 comments Clean House: Exposing Our Government's Secrets and Lies, by Tom Fitton is a disturbing reality that our elected representatives and their appointees are so far from upholding and defending our US Constitution and misrepresenting the citizens of our land.

message 14: by K B (new)

K B (kbcook) | 182 comments Conscience and Its Enemies: Confronting the Dogmas of Liberal Secularism, by Robert P. George -- Very enlightening and well researched. Easier reading than I anticipated and for that I'm grateful. Worth your time!

message 16: by K B (new)

K B (kbcook) | 182 comments If You Can Keep It: The Forgotten Promise of American Liberty, by Eric Metaxas -- BRAVO! Those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it! Those who review history are benefitted by it for future endeavors! The author gets it right on both counts! Recommended reading for all.
