Year long monster mash challenge.

OK I loved this challenge in another group so modifying it a bit and seeing if this group is interested. Rachel thanks for the theme and I'll still be over there too.

11 categories pick at least 5 categories or more and read 5 books for each category. Minimum 25 books.

25 minimum-60 if you do the whole list with 5 each. It is year long though you finish when you finish or you can challenge yourself more.

Hey Vannessa, sorry it took so long. Yes, the one challenge does affect the other (same with the A-Zed challenge). You just cannot count a book here twice in two different categories, ie. A book like Touch the Dark that has demons, vampires, and a witch/psychic, cannot be use but in one category, so pick what you need most.

Don't worry it is a yearly challenge and people can sign up all year long and back date already read books to Jan 1st, so next newsletter would be great too.

I can already tell that Reapers, Zombies, Ghouls and Wraiths are going to be the hard one for me. Last year I used Tess from The Others, Written in Red, as a reaper, which is a little far fetched, but it gave me 3 books in that category.

Sounds fun! Might be hard with telepaths/psychics in general though. Do you think if a vampire can read someone's mind, can it be listed under psychics/telepaths/ghosts instead of vampire? and what about vamps that don't feed on blood, but energy? do they count as vampires or succubi/incubi?

Vampires with psychic powers can be put into either category that works. There are a lot of books that have multiple creatures or creatures that fit in more than one category. You can only count the book once but put it where it fits for you.

I think the energy vampires question depends on you or what they call themselves in the book, and/or how they are identified.

I don't usually have problems with psychic since so many creatures (vampires, witches, etc...) seem to have some sort of psychic senses abilities. There are books where the character is only psychic like Nalini Singh's Psy-Changelings. I have problems with Reapers & Zombies but I think I have it covered with the Grave Witch series.

I finished 2 categories, have one book to read in another couple. I don't think I'll be able to do all the categories, so I'll just do my best.

Wow the amount of books and the variety is amazing! Keep up the good work! I love the different series and books. I go by title and cover ( sad I know), but it works!
