Heather Blake/Webber also told me that she loved To Kill a Mockingbird- Unfortunately, I have already read this, and wanted to do one I have not read before, so I am choosing Empire Falls.
I might use The Poisonwood Bible for a South America selection.

Yep. For me, it changes often. I went with two authors that introduced me to a new genre that I really felt made me excited when I knew they had a new book coming out. I am FB friends with them, so I simply asked them there.

Edited to add: I received a reply from Ian Rankin. As I thought, he said The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie by Muriel Spark!

Interesting that she only gave me the one...To Kill a Mockingbird. What were here other suggestions?

I told her I'd already read that one , so she sent me this:
If you like time travel romance, I adore SON OF THE MORNING by Linda Howard. THE SPELLMAN FILES by Lisa Lutz is another favorite. My fave kid's book is WHERE'S MY TEDDY by Jez Alborough. My fave this past year was BIG LITTLE LIES by Liane Moriarty. Hope that helps!

Thank you!
I had already started Empire Falls...but, if I have time, I might do the Son of the Morning. That sounds up my alley, and I really did not enjoy the Empire Falls.

Ah Fahrenheit 451 - could also qualify about a book about books.

Of the ones she named I am going to pick Reconstructing Amelia by Kimberly McCreight . Jodi says that while everyone was talking about "Gone Girl" she was crazy about this book.

CS Lewis was a genius. His writing is wonderful and humbling.

I do not know if he is that known in the world, but in Germany he is famous ;)
I asked him via twitter and thats what he answers:
The Golem
Books of Blood : Volume One and the other ones of the series.
The Club Dumas
The Damnation Game
Foucault's Pendulum
Gormenghast
And Stephen Kings "It" (cannot link it here)
Hope it would help other fans of Kai Meyer :)
I dont know if I will read The Golem or Focaults Pendulum. I own both and havent read them.

Great suggestion, thank you and I did find one though it was not quite what I wanted.

After reading all the recommendations, I decided on this one.
I really do not have a favorite author. I have favorite authors for different types of genres, but none are listed in Goodreads.
I've seen the movie and would like to read the book.

Making Faces, by Amy Harmon (recommended by Pepper Winters) or
Rook and Ronin: Complete Seven Book Series by J A Huss (recommended by CD Reiss.

Anyway, her favorite book is The Thief Lord and has been for years, so I'll be reading that when I get done with what I'm reading now.
Edit: Actually, if you're looking for a fairytale remake to read, her book is a retelling of Beauty and the Beast (if you couldn't tell by the title).

Sounds like a good choice. I liked Carrie

Or try "so and so's favorite books"--got some nice hits with that.

Since I don't have a specific favorite, I picked Paula McLain who is one of my favorite authors. She lists West with the Night as a book she liked.

Her favourite book is The Light of Day by Eric Ambler. So I am going to read that.
