Relstuart | 1 comments ALCON,
I've been asked to provide feedback for recommendations for enlisted Airmen for professional development reading (to supplement the CSAF reading list).

The current list I have is:
Crusade: The Untold Story of The Persian Gulf War
The Shape of Wars to Come
Vietnam: The Valor and the Sorrow
OVERLORD: General Pete Quesada and the Triumph of Tactical Air Power in World War II
The Icarus Syndrome
Deep Black: Space Espionage and National Security
A Few Great Captains
Forged in Fire
The Command of the Air
The Profession of Arms
Storm over Iraq: Air Power and the Gulf War
Stars in Flight
Assignment Pentagon: The Insider’s Guide to the Potomac Puzzle Palace
Taking Charge: Making the Right Choices
Sun Tzu's The Art of War

Interested in hearing if anyone has any recommendations to replace or add to the books in this list. Thanks!

'Aussie Rick' (aussierick) Maybe also this one but I have not read it so cannot give you much of an idea of how good it is:

happy (happyone) | 93 comments One novel that you might include is Anton Myrer's

Once an Eagle by Anton Myrer

Great look at military leadership and what it is to be a leader rather than a manager.

It was on the PME reading list when I was in the 101st a life time ago :)

'Aussie Rick' (aussierick) One outstanding combat memoir that is on a number of military reading lists is this excellent book:

House to House An Epic Memoir of War by David Bellavia House to House: An Epic Memoir of War by David Bellavia

Geevee | 111 comments A couple that might be of interest. The first book covers the Falkland Islands air war of 1982 which saw RAF Harriers and crews operating of air craft carriers in support of their Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm colleagues. The second is a good overall book on the Battle of Britain in 1940, which had a few US airman flying as volunteers in the RAF. I hope they are helpful.

Liam (dimestoreliam) | 96 comments Air Commando One: Heinie Aderholt And America's Secret Air Wars; without a doubt. I'll second Aussie Rick's recommendation of The Age of Airpower as well; I was lucky enough to get a copy not long after it was published, and I thought it was excellent. Anything by Martin van Creveld is almost certainly going to be worth reading, and that one is just as good as anything he has written. Another good one would be Beyond the Wild Blue: A History of the U.S. Air Force, 1947-1997. I can't think of a better general history of the USAF (there is also a new edition of the book, Beyond the Wild Blue: A History of the U.S. Air Force, 1947-2007). The last one I can think of off the top of my head is Any Time, Any Place: Fifty years of the USAF Air Commando and Special Operations Forces, 1944-1994, which is worth reading also, particularly for those with an SOF orientation.

Artur (artur_fidler) | 1 comments Hey there; My name is Artur Fidler and I am new one in the club. For all readers I would highly recommend for Military Professional Reading book Wild Heads of War. It tells the story of the events of Afghanistan in 2009. It is an entertaining story about the actions of NATO forces in Afghanistan, directed against global terrorism. I also invite you to my blog, which part I will running here on Goodreads and some on FB fanpage. I dedicated the book to my friend who was killed while serving in 2009 on NATO led-security mission. Could I recommend that for enlisted Airmen? Sure I do, highly recommend - Wild Heads of War.
