This folder is for a book by an author you've never read before.

Please share your suggestions, or any resources you've used to help find your book for this category in this thread.

How do you find new authors to read?

Valerie | 280 comments I like to look at new release lists. I am particularly fond of cozy mysteries, and their is a new list coming out every first Tuesday. This site lists all the books coming out in the future, and is good for finding something new.

Very special book. Weaves actual history into a fictional account.
Did you read her "Mermaids Tale" ? - my personal email has a quote from it.

Thank you for that find. I do not read a lot of mysteries, but I like seeing what is happening in the field.

Sandy (sandypluto) Dear goodreads mates- Can anyone here please suggest me a book that talks about self marketing..I need a book that gives us guidance about how to market oneself or their work and how to show the world that we have done some value add. I need this in the context of corporate life.

Natália Lopes (silkcaramel) I have lots of new authors on my TBR list! I don't know yet which one I'll pick, most likely a standalone novel.

Possibly "What Color Is Your Parachute"? It is about writing your resume and job hunting but has a lot of advice about rethinking what you have done in life.

Ann-Marie (amsjob) This is the first of his novels that have been translated to Swedish. I´m currently reading it and it is amazing, wonderful and fantastic. Laurus by Eugene Vodolazkin

Teresa (teremazon) Hmmmm. Decisions, decisions. This is another difficult one. I am overdue on getting acquainted with Saul Bellow, Phillip Roth, Jonathan Franzen, Terry Pratchett, Peter Carey, and so many millions more. I think that the approach for this category is going to be on the reverse for me. No planning. Whatever book takes my fancy as I go along with the others on the list, if it is by a new author, that's the one I will count.

Mary Sue The next selection for my book club is The Virgin Cure. I just finished and absolutely loved it - will definitely be looking for more books by Ami McKay.
