Tami (tamidale) BURIAL RITES was my choice for a book about a culture I'm unfamiliar with. It's set in Iceland in the 1800's and while reading, I discovered I really didn't know very much about Iceland.

Tami (tamidale) MOTHER: A CRADLE TO HOLD ME by Maya Angelou was my poetry choice. I feel like I cheated because the book is so short. :)

Tami (tamidale) THE MAGIC STRINGS OF FRANKIE PRESTO by Mitch Albom, was my choice for the book that brings you joy. If you love music, you will enjoy this book. I listened to this one on audio, as some of the narrators are my favorites and Mitch Albom was also one of them.
There are some sad parts, but it's the story of a life well-lived and a man who impacted other lives in a positive way through his music.

Tami (tamidale) THE LIFE-CHANGING MAGIC OF TIDYING UP is my choice for self-improvement. We've been in our house for nearly 20 years and I have kept way too many items (mostly for sentimental reasons) and it's time to say goodbye to a good chunk of stuff!

message 6: by Tami (new)

Tami (tamidale) A FALL OF MARIGOLDS was my choice for a book with a blue cover.

Tami (tamidale) WUTHERING HEIGHTS was my choice for a book at least 100 years older. I have heard so much about Heathcliff through the years, and now I know why!

message 8: by Tami (new)

Tami (tamidale) THE SUMMER BEFORE THE WAR was my choice for a book set in Europe. This was set in Sussex in 1914.

Tami (tamidale) LONESOME DOVE was my choice for a book set in my home state. Even though they went on a cattle drive, it began and ended in Texas. Great book!
