We thought it would be fun to be a little adventurous in 2016. So everyone keep your arms and legs in the ride at all times and enjoy the journey. If you wish to ride then there are a few guidelines to follow.

Choose an author that is from a country other than your own.The author must be born in the country that you chose. I will link a couple of countries below but you can go to the listopia and type in "authors from _______"(what ever country you are looking for) and it will bring up various books for you. If you need help with this I will be happy to help you out.

Create a shelf and name it 2016 Authors from another country where you will add in all of the books as you read them. Just post the link for your shelf here.

No short stories or novellas please, the books need to be at least 150 pages in length.

The books can be of any genre.

This challenge will run the entire year of 2016 so experience the many wonders of the world and read from every country at your own pace.

Reviews are welcomed and encouraged.

Most importantly ENJOY!

Nicole D. (thereadingrebel) | 969 comments Question:
Do we have to just do one country who can we do multiple countries?
Like read an author from Wales and then read one from Canada?

Also do they have to be born in that country or live there or does it matter which?

message 3: by Tracy (new)

Tracy | 7239 comments Mod
Hey Nicole, you can read as many books from as many countries that you like. Since it's a year long challenge the goal is to read from many different countries to get many different experiences.. The authors should be born in the country you have chosen.

I don't see any harm in recommending books Camila, as long as they aren't your own because we have a thread to promote your own books.

Yeah, it really is difficult. You should look up some Aussie authors like Liane Moriarty, Nicola Moriarty (who is my hubby's, cousin's wife and sister to Liane -who is a very popular Aussie author). Or we have Melina Marchetta, Markus Zusak, John Marsden, Alison Goodman, Isobelle Carmody, Garth Nix etc…here is a list of Aussie YA authors…https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/6...

Hope this helps you :D

Oh man gals :( I'm sorry you haven't been able to find something written by an author born in another country to yours. Hang in there though, this is a yearly challenge so you have plenty of time. Like I mentioned up earlier with a conversation I had with you, Tracy. There are some great authors from Australia so I hope you get to discover them.
