Stephanie (stephanie-somanybooks) | 719 comments A new category for 2016:

Read up to 5 books that have a person's name in the title.

Examples would be:
Where'd You Go, Bernadette
Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children

message 2: by Melki (new)

Melki Can I count Krampus! here? He's more of a demon than a person, but it is a proper name.

message 3: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca Douglass (rdouglass) | 379 comments I can't help noting that two of my books have the hero's name in the title... ;)

I only have the last 3 in the series to go. One of my goals for the year is to finish that series! :) I'm trying very hard to use books that I already own for these challenges, so that definitely helps.

message 14: by Sam (new)

Sam (ecowitch) | 319 comments Got my second with Catriona :-)

message 15: by Kristen (new)

Kristen (kitslittlelibrary) Would the Deadpool graphic novels count since his name is in the title?

Stephanie (stephanie-somanybooks) | 719 comments Kristen wrote: "Would the Deadpool graphic novels count since his name is in the title?"

Yes, they will count.

message 17: by Melki (new)

Melki I just remembered, I read The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry back in January and forgot to count it here. Is it too late?

message 18: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (stephanie-somanybooks) | 719 comments Melki wrote: "I just remembered, I read The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry back in January and forgot to count it here. Is it too late?"

Nope, not too late. :-)

That's on my to-read list, how did you like it?

message 19: by Melki (new)

Melki Stephanie wrote: "That's on my to-read list, how did you like it? "

It's wonderful. Bump it up on your list.

message 21: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (stephanie-somanybooks) | 719 comments Susan wrote: "1. Uncle Fred in the Springtime
2. Anne Perry and the Murder of the Century"

We can take Anne Perry and the Murder of the Century but Uncle Fred is already listed under Seven Continents.

message 22: by Melki (new)

Melki Rebecca wrote: "I got my second: The Mysterious Benedict Society"

That one is in my stack. At first I was annoyed because it's just shy of the 500 page mark, so, alas, no Finger-Crusher. I never even thought to count it for this challenge. Good thinkin'!

message 23: by Melki (new)

Melki Finished the so-so Ann Tenna: A novel today.

message 24: by Sam (new)

Sam (ecowitch) | 319 comments And I've got my third for this with Vatilan the Dish Thief

Martha (marthais) | 101 comments Can I have No And Me? No isn't a traditional name, but it is the name of one of the main characters

Stephanie (stephanie-somanybooks) | 719 comments Martha wrote: "Can I have No And Me? No isn't a traditional name, but it is the name of one of the main characters"

Yes, if "No" is their name, then it counts! :-)

message 35: by Martha (new)

Martha (marthais) | 101 comments Fab thanks!

message 37: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (stephanie-somanybooks) | 719 comments Finished last night:

I Am Alice by Joseph Delaney

message 38: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (stephanie-somanybooks) | 719 comments And finished the B&N serial read:

Dorothy Must Die by Danielle Paige

This one ended with a major cliff hanger and the next one in the series was ten bucks! So this currently unemployed IT professional will need to see if it's at the library.

message 39: by Melki (new)

Melki I'm hoping I can count this one here - Death by Zamboni.
Zamboni is an Italian surname.

Yes, it's a name, we'll take it.

message 41: by Melki (last edited Jul 28, 2016 09:19AM) (new)

Melki I'd like to count Anne of Avonlea towards this challenge. I think that makes five:

1. Krampus!
2. The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry
3. Ann Tenna: A novel
4. Death by Zamboni
5. Anne of Avonlea

2."

Michael, this is your second "Name in the Title" book, you'd added Henry Reed, Inc. back in June.

message 46: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (stephanie-somanybooks) | 719 comments Michael wrote: "completed
1. Henry Reed, Inc. by Keith Robertson
2. Theodore Boone: Kid Lawyer by John Grisham
3. The Abduction by [author:J..."

Hi Michael, for this category the name has to be part of the title, not part of the series name. So "Theodore Boone: Kid Lawyer" works, but the other two books in the series, "The Abduction" and "The Accused" do not.
