Nonfictionally: my dad, who battled cancer until the very end. And my husband, who works so hard to provide so well.

I really liked the couple but I'm not a fan of the style Suzanne Brockmann writes. There is too much going on at one time and I get too confused trying to keep it straight.

So ultimately, I'm picking Acheron of Acheron by Sherrilyn Kenyon. The reason is simple really. The Dark Hunter series didn't appeal to me until I read Acheron. I loved her The League series but the Dark Hunter series wasn't doing it for me. Then I read Acheron and while I did feel the romance itself took a really long time to come, I fell hard for Acheron and it opened the door for me to read more of the series and to reread those books I had read before. He made me a fan.
An extra special mention goes to Jack West of Soul Deep by Pamela Clare. He is an older man, aged 63. And while most people would cringe at the idea, he turned into a most worthy hero, proving age has little to do with it.
