E.L. Irwin (elirwin) | 32 comments Fictionally: I fell in love with Rowan from the Throne of Glass series. His resolve, his loyalty, his fire, and his passion.
Nonfictionally: my dad, who battled cancer until the very end. And my husband, who works so hard to provide so well.

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) | 14527 comments Good picks! I thought in terms of fictional but I'm glad you told us your real heroes, E.L.. They are so important!

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 13013 comments My hero hands down was Roger "Sam" Starrett from the Troubleshooters series by Suzanne Brockmann. He started off as a bit of player but over several books he really grew as a man and a hero till be shone in his own story Gone Too Far (Troubleshooters, #6) by Suzanne Brockmann

I really liked the couple but I'm not a fan of the style Suzanne Brockmann writes. There is too much going on at one time and I get too confused trying to keep it straight.

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 13013 comments Oh that's a shame Pamela. I absolutely love them. Especially how she builds up the plotline and characters over several books. I'm a big fan of that style of writing. I also like J R Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood series and a lot of readers say the same as you, too much going on. But if we all liked exactly the same thing it would be a boring old world, wouldn't it.. ☺

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) | 14527 comments This really is a hard question for me. I read many worthy heroes this year. Heroes written by some of my favorite authors like Pamela Clare, Lisa Kleypas, Jill Shalvis, Kristen Ashley, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Lisa Marie Rice, to name a few.

So ultimately, I'm picking Acheron of Acheron by Sherrilyn Kenyon. The reason is simple really. The Dark Hunter series didn't appeal to me until I read Acheron. I loved her The League series but the Dark Hunter series wasn't doing it for me. Then I read Acheron and while I did feel the romance itself took a really long time to come, I fell hard for Acheron and it opened the door for me to read more of the series and to reread those books I had read before. He made me a fan.

An extra special mention goes to Jack West of Soul Deep by Pamela Clare. He is an older man, aged 63. And while most people would cringe at the idea, he turned into a most worthy hero, proving age has little to do with it.
