Hello, everyone. I'm community member and Goodreads Author Stephen Goldin. I'm finishing off work on my first new novel in 4 years, Quiet Post, and I've posted a sample (prolog and 1st 2 chapters) on my blog, The Ingesterie. Here's the link:
In the spirit of honesty in advertising, I should admit people may not technically consider this space opera. There are no fleets of spaceships battling in outer space. In fact, there are no space ships. Nor, for that matter, does anyone go into outer space.
But the action does take place on an alien world--actually, an alien universe called the Quasiverse, sort of a combination of Oz, Wonderland, Discworld, and my own peculiar imagination.
Oh, and did I mention it's a comedy, too?
Tell you what: If this sample's not space operatic enough for you, I'll promise you triple your money back! Can't be fairer than that.
