Tammy Glenn | 2 comments I read Supurbia, which is published by Image. Grace Randolph's Supurbia Vol. 1 by Grace Randolph

quietprofanity | 72 comments I finished Strong Female Protagonist. Book One the other day, which is an independent story about an ex-superheroine. I initially picked it up because I loved the art but didn't like the name (too generic and buzzwordy). I love how it deals with the "do superheroes really solve anything?" question, though.

message 5: by Luce (new)

Luce Not participating in the panels challenge, but I imagine The Young Protectors: Engaging The Enemy Prologue would work for this

Nadine in NY Jones | 54 comments What counts as a "superhero"?

Brian Vaughan's Ex Machina, main character can "talk" to machines, and he's got a flying suit - I've got one more volume of this great series left.
Warren Ellis's Planetary, definitely superheroes, but I already read the series.
Brian Vaughan's Saga - this is sci-fi, but I'm not sure if it's "superhero"?
Bitch Planet, Vol. 1: Extraordinary Machine?

Warr..."

Ex Machina definitely is. The guy's an ex-superhero and his previous adventures inform the plot. Saga, nah -- it's more a Star Wars-esque Space Opera. Bitch Planet I haven't read.

Jo (allweatherreader) | 105 comments "Superheroes" would be "people using more-than-human powers to help humans", I think. Bitch Planet is definitely not that and I agree that Saga isn't either.

Jo (allweatherreader) | 105 comments I'm not actually sure fantasy comics should count either... I don't think magic and superpowers are the same. But it's debatable!

I think so, but you may prefer to use it for Task 15. (Unless you're doubling up, in which case go nuts.)

Haley (haleyhamilton) | 23 comments Thanks, I already read the Firefly comics or that task!
