Hanna Alright that scene where victor was going to " trade " sarai gave me like a mini heart attack. I thought he was serious, like DUDE NO DONT. And then when Sarai's friend died, right in the feels man.
Like a arrow to my heart.

Also when he left the safe house I KNEW something was going to happen , there is no way something wants going to. AND LOW AND BEHOLD the drug lord shows up. Oh man I was on the edge of my seat during that scene.

Florence | 14 comments Ohmygosh. I just finished the scene where Javier and his men come to get Sarai from Samantha's house. Ohmygod. That part was too intense!

Beatrice (beatricemasalunga) More OMG Intense moments.
damn.

Jane (scribblerjane) I love how this relationship is developing, slow burn in the best way. They are really getting to know each other, just like we are. I love how Victor is understanding Sarai, and how she's starting to understand him as well. So glad this isn't the only book for them because one book wouldn't do it real justice. <3

Florence | 14 comments And I love that you get both perspectives. It helps you to understand that the things Victor does are because he cares. Ugh. I love them.

Agreed! It's so easy to love Victor getting his perspective. Even if he thinks of himself as an unemotional bastard, we all see the truth, the good in him.

Though at Chap. 23, knowing what we know by the future book titles, I don't think Niklas is what he seems either.

Bailey | 4 comments I am all about this relationship right now

Geena (geehyvn) I'm rooting so hard for Victor and Sarai. When he gave her the choice, i was at the edge of my seag hoping that she'll choose to go with him (eventho i know she will). Ugh i'm so into these two. A bit nervous about Sarai's first mission tho...

YESSS. I love how slow burn it is. The first third of the book is all about their indifference to each of that I love that so much. And then slowly ;DDD

I definitely enjoyed the development of their characters.
Though I'm struggling a little with Sarai's desire to join the order without understanding who they are as an organization for no other reason but to be close to Victor.
Then again, he's the first man she's chosen to love and care about since she was 14.

Julia | 6 comments (Jane) slow burn... I like that description of the build up of their relationship! It was killing me and pulling me forward to the next page all at the same time.

It breaks my heart that Sarai is in such a desperate way to find her place after being captive. But, as Sarai found out, going home is not always what dreams are made of.

I am confused about who shot Laney? Was it Victor? I had thought the entire time that Laney was the important daughter they were trying to rescue...so when she died...heart breaking! So, I thought Victor killed Laney and if I 'm right then I'm shocked that Sarai was able to get over it and not berate Victor more than she did

I was very proud of Sarai for standing up to Javier and ultimately being the demise of him!

message 14: by Jane (new)

Jane (scribblerjane) (Julia) I have been dying a very suspenseful death! So like I always do, I ran away. haha. I can't bring myself to read this book until I can really sit down and read. So I'm saving it for the weekend.

Interesting concept. I didn't even think about it. Just felt sad that Sarai lost her one friend. But it is definitely possible that Laney is the important daughter. Hmmm....

I just finished this thing.
And I'm in withdrawls.
I KNEW the moment that she was with Dina at the end that something was going to happen, but I wasn't expecting that...and now I fully expect in Reviving Izabel for Sarai to go after Arthur herself. I'm just upset that she lost Victor--the one true friend that she had.
