Paola (yliharma) | 470 comments Hi Charity!
Looks like I'm the first one to land on your property :)
Will you pick 3 books for me from my bookopoly shelf?

message 3: by Charity (new)

Charity | 577 comments Paola...so excited to pick books for you. Here are my 3 choices:

Anne of Green Gables - only book I've read on your list :)
Alle radici del male - I love to encourage people in book series
The Midwich Cuckoos - the cover and title caught my attention

Hope you find something you like!

Thanks Charity!
I choose "The Midwich Cuckoos": I need a little bit of sci-fi/horror to chill out ;)

Tien! I'm up and awake now in the USA :-) So here are your book choices.

Thérèse Raquin - this has been on my TBR list
The Girl on the Train - we read this in our office book club and I was on the edge of my seat the entire time.
The Secret History - this was a bit quirky but I ended up liking it.

Charity | 577 comments Tien so sorry I didn't get to check my site this weekend...I was sick in bed. I feel much better though and so excited to peek through your shelves again! My choices are:

The Five Love Languages of Children - I read his first book and found it rather interesting and it was a fairly quick read and non-fiction which I have to practically be forced to read.

The Lost Symbol - I haven't read this yet either, but I love his books and look forward to reading it someday.

The Ringmaster's Wife - I find the title intriguing as it seems all professions have a book out about their wife :-)

Aw, Charity, sorry to hear you've been sick! Glad to hear you're better :)

Thanks for the excellent picks! They're so good I'm having trouble picking one lol... Do I go for the new ones or the one that fits with a current or old challenge!?

Hi Charity, I've just landed on P&P :)

Could I have 4 choices please from my bookopoly shelf?

It's funny as I've just finished reading a book yesterday which used the phrase, 'it is universally acknowledged that...' a few times

Hi Tien! These are your choices. I'm not sure if you have 2 properties or not, but I'm all kinds of late on this shelf so if you finish before I catch up you can claim this one.

The Lost Symbol - love this series
Crime and Punishment - this is long, but I actually like it
Some Prefer Nettles - this title intrigued me and the visual of preferring nettles is a little disturbing

Enjoy!

Thanks, Charity! Could I please have 1 more pick? Am reading 2 books per square & you've picked 2 big books :p

I own 2 properties so you're safe :)

Sure...and of course I can't read this morning...you clearly said 4!!! Be right back.

Charity | 577 comments Your 4th book is:

Shadows of the Workhouse - this was the first book under 300 pages on your shelf. If you haven't read the first one you could do that instead, but I didn't see it so I'm assuming you have.

Thanks, Charity!

I borrowed the trilogy from the library the other week so I think I've put all 3 on bookopoly but then again I might not :p

I'm going to see which one I can fit in with Olympics as it seems pretty full on *yikes*

Hi Lusie! My choices for you are:
The Book Thief
Anna Karenina
The Host

I've read them all. My favorite by far was The Book Thief but I felt each of them had something I enjoyed.

Lisette (illusie) | 3233 comments Thank you! I think I'll go for The Book Thief. I have heard a lot of good things about this book.

Charity, would you please pick 3 books for me? Bea's Bookopoly shelf

message 24: by Charity (new)

Charity | 577 comments Hi Bea! Here are my picks for you.

East of Eden - Although it took me a long time to read this I did like it
The Elephant Tree - This is on my to read list
Speaker for the Dead - This is also on my to read list

I see you landed on my other property so off to pick books for that one! I think I'm behind so if you don't have 2 properties and you finish before me feel free to steal it!

Oops...just kidding that's Dee's property...for some reason I always confuse 'To Kill a Mockingbird' and 'Catcher in the Rye' as to the property I actually own :-) haha!
