Angel Parrish | 109 comments I'm using my tracking list to keep track of money saved, books borrowed from libraries, AND books borrowed from other sources. I managed last year to read 109 books without spending a penny. I'm going for beating that record this year.

I read two cute comic books for kids (partially so I can recommend them to others, partially because I'm sharing a reading challenge with my 10-year-old niece). Those I borrowed from my niece, not the library.

As for my actual Snagged @ Library titles, my first completed library book for the year was The Black Echo by Michael Connelly. I have a feeling I will enjoy the future ones in the series a little more than this one. I kept getting interrupted because I was reading it during Christmas and New Years, and I had too many books going at once. Connelly requires full attention--though not as much as Grisham or Clancy. Anyway, it was good, but just good. I love the character of Bosch, and had met him in the Lincoln Lawyer books. Next time he gets more attention.

Angel Parrish | 109 comments I blew through The Demigod Files by Rick Riordan in a little more than an hour. It's really just a small collection of about 3 short stories. Very short. Cute, but not as good as one of the regular books.

Lea (leasummer) Completed my first library read of the new year. At the Water's Edge by Sara Gruen - it was my book club pick this month and I enjoyed the second half quite a bit.
I got a second book Eleanor: the Years Alone but realized it's a sequel to Franklin and Eleanor which I have at home and I'm a stickler for reading in order.

BJ (GoodreadscomLilcLdy57) | 131 comments So far, I've read 5 library books this year. I've been a little slow getting started, but am slowly picking up speed. I think I posted the first 2 on another thread, The Paris Key by Blackwell and the first in the Maisie Dobbs series, called Maisie Dobbs. Both of which were good, I'm going to try to get in more of the Maisie Dobbs series this year. Then I read The Shadow Year by Hannah Richell (sp?), Scandalous Behavior by Stuart Woods (one of my guilty pleasures, the Stone Barrington series) and a YA novel by Sarah Dessen, Saint Anything which was pretty good. I don't read a lot of YA, at least not yet. Now I'm trying to decide what to read next. Looks like a rainy day today in my neck of the woods, a good day to curl up with a good book!

Angel Parrish | 109 comments I just finished The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova. This is no light reading. It is 700 pages long. But it was very good. You can read my review for more info. Fascinating book!

The reviews for this one were all over the place from high to low, but it got very high marks from several authors that I follow, might have to put this one on my list! Thanks Angel.

BJ (GoodreadscomLilcLdy57) | 131 comments Last week I finished the newest Alex Cross, Cross Justice by James Patterson, which was pretty good and The Girl in the Green Raincoat by Laura Lippman which was short, 180 pages. Also part of a series which I have been trying to finish. Only 1 more to go.

BJ (GoodreadscomLilcLdy57) | 131 comments Trying to catch up this morning on posting the books I've read from the library. Looks like I haven't posted anything since January! I finished January out by reading the Expatriates by Janice Lee which was an okay read. In February, I only read 2 books from the Library, The Gates of Evangeline which was a She Reads winter selection, kind of southern which was pretty good and a quick read by Jill Shalvis, #2 in her new series, My Kind of Wonderful. March brought The Readers of Broken Wheel Recommend which I really enjoyed, The Friends We Keep (Mischief Bay #2) by Susan Mallery and Foreign Eclairs (A White House Chef Mystery #9) which is one of the few cozy series that I never miss - this was the final in this series by the current author, Julie Hyzy. I Read What was Mine which was another She Reads Winter selection. Clawback (Ali Reynolds #11) by J. A. Jance, NYPD Red 4 by James Patterson, and Hush, Hush (Tess Monaghan #12) another final in a series (for now) are all series that I never miss. My first read for April was Flight of Dreams about the Hindenburg Disaster which was the March Selection for She Reads. Whew! Need to not wait so long between postings. Right now, I am reading The Little Women Letters by Gabrielle Donnelly which is pretty good, I'm enjoying it and am almost finished. More on this one later.
