This thread is now open for you to join GROUP 94 by adding your GR (not Amazon) book link. We have 10 places – I’ll add your name as you sign in. We’ll aim to get started in just a few weeks so once you’ve signed in watch for a message that we’re ready to start.

When you add your book link it not only indicates you want to join the group – it indicates you AGREE that you are WILLING TO REVIEW ANY ALLOCATED BOOK within the set 12 week limit.
This is the ‘18+’ group. Anyone is free to enter any genre book in this group, but should be aware that they will predominantly be reviewing books with explicit sex and/or violence.
There is no genre filtering.
Allocation is entirely random and there will NOT be any rearranging of the listing to accommodate genre preference. The ONLY circumstance in which you may duck out of giving a review is if YOU provide a stand-in reviewer.

Let’s be honest here – we don’t all like the same things but we all want reviews. The only way this group can function is if we trust each other to behave honourably. And it IS perfectly possible to give a fair-minded review of a text that does not coincide with our normal choice of reading matter. If you need a few hints/tips, please see this thread:

Do not sign up until you have completed all your reviews in another review round in the group.

Make sure you have an author profile set up before you join and that your book is available for sale on amazon.

Please let me know as you sign up if you have been reviewed by, or have reviewed another author in the group. It is permissible to review an author more than once if a different book is available, but reciprocal reviews within the group are strictly prohibited.

If you will allow me, Emma, I'd like to join this group with my book Rise from Darkness. It's a non-fiction book, but I guess that's ok in this group?

I am part of Review group 90, but I only have one book left there.

I have not been reviewed by any of the people who are currently on the list.

If you read the sign up message, you'll see that you have to have finished all your reviews in other rounds before signing up to another.
There are no rules about what books can be submitted to this group, only that authors must be comfortable with reading and reviewing 18+ material, which can include explicit erotica and horror. The 18+ section was formed because writers of explicit material were receiving low star reviews in 'general' groups because of their genre.

I set up three groups at once so people had a choice, but once you've done your final review and an 18+ is still your choice, feel free to sign up.

Gosh, it's been around 12 months since I was last in a group - crazy! I'd love to join in this group with this book Decline it's got very strong language and sex in it, but that's what 18+ is for right? ;)

I've only previously been reviewed by yourself, Emma, and I haven't reviewed for anyone else here I don't believe.

Thanks Marco, people such as yourself as very useful in groups with old hands like me around. Arranging non-reciprocal reviews when I've been in many of the 18+ groups can get a little tricky.

If anyone is curious about the possible order of reviewing, I try and slot people into the list in an appropriate place as they sign up, although the ''order' can sometimes change as other people sign up.

In general, you will be reviewing the four names after yours, and the four people 'above' you, will review you. BUT the list order is subject to changes until the final person signs up.

In my case, I will be reviewing Zeece, Charlie, Michelle and as it stands, Marco. As Marco is a new member, I may have to move him around, depending on who our final member is.

If you pull out after the start date for any reason it is the other members who will be faced with the problem of finding a replacement, or missing out on reviews, through no fault of their own. Please don’t ask the moderators to chase after replacements as we just don’t have the time.

It is the responsibility of the author to get their book to their reviewer in a format the reviewer can manage. Everyone must be able to provide and accept at least PDF. There are no set dates for the start of each round. You can each work at your own pace, within the limits of the round deadlines. All reviews must be posted by the end of the group.

When you have posted your reviews please post the links to your three reviews in this thread.

All reviews must be posted to GR, Amazon .com and Amazon.co.uk.

Postings to any other sites are by agreement by both author and reviewer.

My advice is to use PM to give email addresses to each other (save the chance of spammers getting your addies from this open forum).

Remember that you don't necessarily have to review the books you are allocated in order, as long as reviews are done before the review round deadline. i.e. you have to have reviewed at least one of your four allocated books by 16th February, it doesn't necessarily have to be the first book on your list.
