Here's some 2016 titles I'm excited about:

Salt to the Sea - Ruta Sepetys
The Great American Whatever - Tim Federle
Booked - Kwame Alexander
Saving Montgomery Sole - Mariko Tamaki
Highly lllogical Behavior - John Corey Whaley

We are the Ants -- Shaun David Hutchinson (out now)
The Charmed Children of Rookskill Castle -- Janet Fox (March)
Golden Boys - Sonya Hartnett (April)
I second Saving Montgomery Sole! Also the Federle.
I already read the Sepetys -- it's good. Also already read but would love to discuss: The Lie Tree by Hardinge, The Girl from Everywhere by Heilig (smart AND commercial)
Wild Robot, Peter Brown's prose debut is on my radar on the young end.
Other YA I want to read:
A Fierce and Subtle Poison, Samantha Mabry (April)
This Savage Song, Schwab (June, tho)
Roses and Rot, Kat Howard (this is a small press so I am only half certain it's being positioned as YA) (May)
The Raven King - Stiefvater CAN'T WAIT!
Exit, Pursued by a Bear, EK Johnston (March)
Rebel of the Sands, Hamilton (March)
Peas and Carrots, Davis (Feb, I think)

Also read the Septys.
Can't wait for the Stiefvater, although I plan to continue listening to this series on audio because I love them that way.
I think we mostly just want to be able to say "omg!" And "gansey!" In likeminded company. Not so much discussion as debrief ;)
Oh! More middle grade thoughts:
Wolf Hollow:

Summerlost, Allie Condie - has a controversial passage, I hear, a la Hired Girl.

ICYMI, the HVLA book club will meet for the first time in 2016 on February 2. Check your email for the RSVP (sent by Karyn S). We'll be discussing the 2016 ALA YMA winners and Marilyn Nelson's American Ace.
There's a whole lot of 2016 ahead of us though, so what are you looking forward to reading? Let us know so we can keep track of potential book club choices.
