This is an interesting article about life during the Georgian period. http://www.reviewfromsaturday.com/no-...

Nina | 449 comments interesting article, thanks for posting, Emily. Has anyone read those modern takes on Jane Austen or the books from Mr. Darcy's or the servants' perspectives? Am tempted but also fear to be extremely disappointed...

Arlene Hi Nina I have not read them either for the exact same reason and now they have a movie coming out Pride and Prejudice and Zombies WOW

RitaSkeeter Article confirmed that I'm not cut out for Georgian life (not that that was ever really in question!).

@nina - my MIL keeps recommending Longbourn to me. She loves it.

I haven't read any of the modern takes, and doubt I will though maybe I'll consider the MILs recommendation. I love the originals and don't feel the need to see the stories in a modern setting, but I know that there are other people who feel differently.

@arlene - I know that zombie one was a book as well, and I think there might be one about sea monsters or something also?!

Edited to add: found the sea monster one in the catalogue - Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters (!).

Nina | 449 comments Haha, that's hilarious! It might be a step too far for me though. Might give your recommended recommendation a try though, RitaSkeeter
