Bill Goldman's Hollywood memoires/writing aids - Adventures in the Screen Trade and Which Lie Did I Tell are a must read for any one who loves film and gossip.
Man, he hates Dustin Hoffman.

I really enjoy Bill Goldman's voice: his frustration with his life and his genius wife, his bafflement at Morgenstern for writing a thrilling yarn and wasting it inside a satire.
There have been plenty of times when I've read books and come to the conclusion that the characters or plots were too good for the writer's ability, and that they should have been taken away and redistributed to someone who'd better appreciate them more.
Inigo is my favourite though. He's something straight out of a Dumas novel.
