Melissa This book was painfully slow. Couldn't wait to be done!!

Valerie | 280 comments I chose this one as well. I am glad I did it in audio version, and divided it up in to chunks. listening to it while doing chores and such. It was VERY political, and depressing. I learned a lot about the structure of Pakistan at that time, and insight into the beginnings of ISIS....but, I did not feel like I got as much insight into Malala. If anything, I felt more that I was hearing her father's story, and not hers. But, perhaps, that in and of itself reflects the culture where women are second class citizens, and that males are the more important part of that land.

I do recommend that you do it in audio version as it helps hearing the correct pronunciations of names and places.
