Kathy This was about an expedition to a mysterious wilderness where the population has disappeared and strange natural, or unnatural, things have been occurring. I was really let down by this book and I had been looking forward to reading it for a while now. I don't know how it won a Nebula Award. Completely disappointed.

Judy I was completely of mixed opinion on this one: yes, the story line itself was kind of flat, but the weirdness of the atmosphere throughout really had me hooked. The second book was different, also weird, and contradicts some of the events reported in the first. I decided not to bother reading the third one, but I find that my mind is still prowling around wondering how it all came out (if it does!), and I'll probably read it after all. I think I gave the first two 3 stars just because I couldn't make up my mind what I thought.

Kathy I own the other two but I haven't read them yet. I'm not sure yet if I will. It was only about 200 pages long, so I kind of feel that the entire trilogy is really one long novel divided up into three books. Nothing much really happened. Flat is a good word to use when describing Annihilation. The other two books are still sitting there on my Kindle. That will probably bug me enough and I will have to read them anyway.
