We'll be reading The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky during February. It's a short but emotional book, and we hope you'll join us this month.

Just remember to hide spoilers just in case someone hasn't read it.

Marisol I've had this book forever and have never picked it up to read but it will read this month!

I read the books a few summers ago and I could really relate to the main character Charlie and the struggles he went through. He reminded of of myself, because I have some learning differences and social anxieties.

Federica Bellifemine I read this book about a year ago and it's still one of my favorites! It's so good.

How's everyone liking Perks?

The movie is at Target for under $10! It's a really good adaptation, and if anyone's interested, we could do a movie talk on Tuesday (Feb 29).

I'm re-reading Perks for the 5th time. I loved it the first time, and I'm loving it the fifth time.
I loved the movie, but I don't own it yet. I'll probably buy it soon though. A movie talk would be awesome!

Susan | 169 comments I just finished reading The Perks of Being a Wallflower. It was a fun read. Charlie is certainly a unique character. I like the way he tells things just as he sees them.

There were a lot of references to things that really set the time period ( such as the Rocky Horror Picture Show). I wondered if younger readers knew what these things were or if it mattered to them when they were reading the story.

It seems like people liked the movie. I'm going to give it a looksie. :-)

I think kids still know what Rocky Horror Picture Show is. I know I knew what it was when I was younger. I just wasn't allowed to watch it. lol

I loved the movie!
