Willing To Review Christian Group discussion

One for One is a way of gaining reviews for your books without having to commit to a long review group or read books you may not be interested in. It is not a direct swap between two authors.

Here is how it works...

A list of books from authors will be put up for review. When an author wants their book added to the list they first pick a book already on the list, read it, review it, and then paste a link to the review in the comments. Their own book would then be posted to the list in place of the one they reviewed. Once their book is chosen by a reviewer, it would be removed. But they can have it placed back on the list by simply reviewing one of the available ones.
Reviews are to be placed on AMAZON, AMAZON UK, and GOODREADS. If authors would like the review placed on other websites please arrange that with the reviewer who selected your book.
There is no limit to how many times your book can be on the list, just pick another book and start the process over once it has been taken down.

This is a CHRISTIAN group, for anyone who wasn't aware, One for One will be open to all genres, Fiction, Non-Fiction, Devotional, Fantasy, Science Fiction, etc...

The only requirement is that it is Christian and falls within the PG-13 zone. If you think your book may fall in the grey area then please say so in your request.

Just because your book is added to the list does not mean it will ever be chosen for review. It could be there for months or only hours. But if the group picks up interest then the wait shouldn't be too long.

As an author it is YOUR job to keep an eye on the thread and check when your book has been chosen for review.

This thread is meant for authors to gain non-reciprocal reviews but if authors REALLY want to swap books for review PLEASE do so privately as some review groups do not encourage swapping because it may cause reviews to be bias. I personally don't care who swaps but just to be safe, please make arrangements for direct swaps privately. A direct swap is when two authors exchange books with each other for review.

...FOR REVIEWERS...

This group really helps authors gain reviews and exposure, especially as Christian authors. For those like me, who write in a very genre-specific category, it can be exceptionally hard to gain reviews. So we're all here to help each other.

However...you are in NO way required to give glowing five star reviews for whatever book you choose to read. I personally try to avoid posting reviews under 3 stars. Instead I send a private critique directly to the author. If that's not your style, no problem. You can work out your own agreement with the author or spill out your negative guts all over Amazon and Goodreads as you please.

That being said, treat every author the way you would want to be treated when writing a review--whether positive or negative. Also keep in mind, while a book may not be in the genre you prefer it IS possible to write a good review about a book you may not have necessarily liked. Maybe the story wasn't GREAT but the writing was solid.

If you find you absolutely cannot make it through a book please notify me personally and we can work out an arrangement.
