On the top of my list of inspiring books would have to be Rainbow Rowell's, "Fangirl." Her characters are written so realistically, I can't help but cling onto every last word of her stories/books. That and, you know, it's nice having a fanfiction writer portrayed in a book that isn't some kind of trope. It's also nice to have fanfiction as a whole acknowledged for what it is to the fans.

Feel free to list as many books as you like in your post!

Fangirl was sooooo good and inspiring!

But I think one that really pushed me to write even more than I did before was Stolen by Lucy Christopher. I just remember how I felt everything so deeply and how the story touched me places I didn't know could be reached, and I remember wanting to be able to tell a story that would impact someone the same way.

Another one would probably be Fire With Fire by Siobhan Vivian and Jenny Han, not exactly for the plot or anything, but mostly for the characters and how real the relationship between Reece and Lila was, like every time I read about them, they stepped out of the book to act the scene in front of me.

Rebecca (rlacy) | 5 comments Everything I read inspires me to keep writing. Recently, I read A Paris Apartment by Michelle Gable. It is a book I wish I had written, and it pushed me to step things up a notch. When I interviewed Michelle, she said "You have to be a reader to be a writer." So true!

Exanimis | 10 comments Edgar Rice Burroughs inspired me as a kid with adventures like Pellucidar and Tarzan.
Shakespeare's tragedies inspired me to look at an event from all possible sides.
Dean Koontz inspired me to build suspense without going past the line to total darkness.
Batman inspires me to keep things hidden until the right time.
J. K. Rawlings inspires me because sometimes you can reach perfection and reading is really all about having fun.

Louise Carlson Stowell I have to add one that I am currently reading now: The Pleasures of the Damned: Poems, 1951 - 1993 by Charles Bukowski. I love the raw edginess of his truth.
