His Dark Materials Series by Philip Pullman starting February 9th, 2016

I forgot to ask, are we also reading Lyra's Oxford and Once Upon a Time in The North?
I'm going to read a little before bed.
We can read those too.
We can read those too.
Yes I'm sure.
Always enjoy it.
Always enjoy it.

(do we comment on the book and swap opinions or do we just update?) I haven't done this before so
Usually you comment and talk about the book as you read.
And for challenges for it to count for an extra point you must comment at least 4 times while reading.

well it's hard for me to make myself clear to people but I'll give it a try
Some of my favourite elements of the books is the rich language Pullman uses, the breathtaking landscape and the unfathomable depth of his characters. There is both good and bad in every single person and their dæmon (if they have one) and his way of writing is unparalleled in all fantasy fiction, in my opinion.

The points are for challenges. So this month is the valentines challenge.
And it could be something simple like (view spoiler)
Just comments that are about the book or how you felt at a part of the book.
Just make sure you say what chapter and book and if spoilers put in spoiler brackets.

I will be starting the second book tomorrow which is the 14th for me.
I might get to it late tonight.

and some of your comments (as I managed to open up the website) aren't even spoilers, why would someone read this thread if they haven't read the books? if they didn't want spoilers, they'd just see what I see which is practically nothing, and if the do want spoilers the they'll see them right off so what's the big deal?
I'm not attacking, this is just really bothering me I thought this experience would be fun but it really isn't.
I will stop putting "none spoiler" like thoughts in spoiler brackets but spoilers I will put in brackets. As someone who does not like being spoiled it's hard for me to just post something that could spoile it for someone.
The reason to put them in spoiler brackets is for other who might read it later and use this thread for their BR,

(I understand why Lyra treated Will the way she did when they first met, it's only natural for her to be suspicious (especially as he didn't have a dæmon) but he was very abrupt and judgmental of her not knowing about the societal and technological differences in worlds different than her own, which I don't like at all.
Lyra was being secretive, whereas Will was being obnoxious, ordering her around etc.)
ok how the hell do I do the stupid spoiler brackets thing???

Sorry I have been slow. I had two huge projects for school and my niece over. This morning is my first time having the chance to read.
It's easy to tell that Will's world is modern and everything but Lyra's has always been intresting to me.
