Melissa (thereaderandthechef) (melissarobles) Mean Luke alert! This ending gave us a bit more of his greediness towards gold and fortune. Is it possible that he DID have feelings/resentment towards Cécile despite this not being part of the actual storyline?

Maybe... ;-)

Irena BookDustMagic | 7 comments I got a feeling Luke had feelings for Cecile but he was turned down his feeling changed into anger or something different, but he definitely didn't have good attentions towards Cecile anymore, so that's why he decided to trade her for gold.

If I misunderstood something, blame my imagination.

BellaKara | 29 comments It's great knowing more of a background of what could have happened between Luke and Cecile to lead him to selling her for gold, and why her specifically as other women would have fit the rather broad specifications of the profecy though none as well as Cecile. He did seem to be doing everything out of anger towards her, even not caring about her injuries which is something that should have crossed his mind if he wanted the best price for her if he was motivated by greed alone. It seemed to me as more a cross between anger, resentment and greed than greed alone. Could you maybe share the print or pdf version of the chapter as an extra after the read along?

Kelsea (ventureswithbooks) | 22 comments I think I still like the first chapter in the book but this was very interesting too! I really loved how we got to see more of Cecile's "I'm not afraid to get dirty" personality. It was a new perspective of Luke as well, seeing more of his feelings towards Cecile and how he values greed even over what he thinks is his "love" for Cecile. I also really really loved how we got a small intro into the trolls binding oaths that was probably my favorite part!!
